The Ordinary Life of Brooke Jones

Chapter 7

Today was a pretty causal day at school except Ricky wasn't at school, Brooke was waiting for him where she always did after school, but after an hour she finally left. She hurried upstairs to her bedroom and quickly dialed Ricky's number, she listened to it ring, but there was no answer, so she tried him again, but again no answer. She was starting to get worried so she went downstairs and told her mom that she was going to Ricky's house to see where he was at, but when she got downstairs her mom had just hung up the phone and had a sad look on her face, when she heard Brooke on the steps she quickly turned around.

Mel: "Brooke, I'm afraid I have some bad news."
Brooke: "What happened?!"
Mel: "Ricky got into a really bad car accident last night, hon-"

Brooke stood there in shock from what she had just heard. She felt like she had died inside, when she finally came out of her shock she headed for the door got into her moms car and drove to the hospital. When she arrived she ran to the front desk

Brooke: "Ricky Matthews, please"

The nurse looked on her computer.

Nurse: "Are you family?"
Brooke: "He's my boyfriend."
Nurse: "Sorry, only family for now, come back tomorrow during visiting hours."
Brooke: "Is his mom still here?"
Nurse: "Let me go check."
The nurse left to go look for Ricky's mom, while Brooke sat down in the chair across from the desk. 5 minutes have past and the nurse came back with his mom by her side.

Diana: "Hi."
Brooke: "Hi, how is he?"
Diana: " He's stable, but we're still going to keep an eye on him.'
Brooke: "I'm Brooke by the way, its so nice to meet you."
Diana: "I know, Ricky doesn't shut up about you. He comes home everyday from school telling me about how he got to see you and talk to you. He really likes you."
Brooke: "Wow! That's sweet. Um, is there anything I can do for you or for him?"
Diana: "Will you stay with me tonight, my husband's working late and I don't want to be here alone."
Brooke: "Uh yeah that would be great, but can I ask how did he get into a wreak?"
Diana: "Some dumbass was texting a driving."
Brooke: "Are you going to sue?"
Diana: "Yes I am!"
Brooke: "I would have done the same."

Brooke and Diana talked for about two hours before the both past out next to him. It was about 3 a.m when the monitor started beeping like crazy, Brooke and Diana got up and yelled for help, nurses and Doctors came into the room and started working on him, end doctors and other people too. Then Brooke looked over and heard a flatline start......
