P.S: In the last chapter I changed her black t-shirt to a black long sleeved t-shirt. You'll understand why I did this later on in the story.
Jays POV:
Why do I always find myself in these kind of situations? Right now I'm running home with an unconscious Eva in my arms. What a way to spend a Friday night.
Note the sarcasm.I didn't have a car, mum said I had to get a job if I wanted a new car and with school and everything I don't think I have time for a job. Maybe when Liv gets better I'll go job hunting.
You might be asking 'why the hell are you taking her to your house? Take her to a freaking hospital'.
Well she fainted when I talked about taking her to a hospital, imagine what would happen if she woke up in an actual hospital. She might have a stroke or something.
When I got home I pulled out a key from my pocket being careful so I won't drop her and inserted it into the key hole, when I got in I heard a familiar voice from the living room.
Damn I forgot about movie night with Lily.
She walked out with a bunch of movies in her hands "Where have you been?" She asked still scanning the movies, not looking at me.
"It's almost nine, well as far as you're here let's pick the movie. I have The Last Song, Deadpool, The Note Book, The Avengers, The Fault in ou-" she stopped mid sentence when she looked at me. Her mouth went agape and all the movies fell as her arms went limp.
"What happened?" She said as she ran towards us giving me a frightened look. I made my way to the big sofa in the living room and set her down gently. I asked Lily to get the first aid box and I tried to rescuscitate her, I was so relieved when I saw her eyes open a little and shut again. Lily appeared with the box beside me, I opened the box revealing it's contents. She quietly watched as I placed an ice pack on her ankle for a few minutes, I gently removed the ice pack and rubbed ointment on her ankle then wrapped it with a bandage, finally I put a bunch of pillows to elevate her leg. You learn a thing or two when your mother is a doctor and with a brother like Stephen and our constant fighting we both broke parts of our body several times. Her body was still ice cold, I tucked a pillow under her head and pulled a blanket over her.
I flopped on the couch trying to regain a little energy, everything that just happened in the past few hours was hectic. Lily walked to my side and sat on the arm chair, I guess she's looking for an explanation. I was about to begin when I heard the voice of my brother coming from the stairs.
"Yo dude, where's your laptop charger? Mines busted and I-", he stopped mirroring the same expression Lily had when she saw Eva. I guess I've got some explaining to do.
__________
"......... then she freaked out when I mentioned hospital", they both sat quietly trying to digest what I just said. The good news is Eva's colour was coming back and her temperature was normal.Stephen decided he wanted to be the one who broke the silence, "Okay but one question, who is she?" Stephen said referring to the unconscious girl on our couch.
"She's Evangelin Grey, she goes to our school," Lily chipped in before I could answer.
"Oh is she the famous girl," he said looking back at her "she's pretty hot," that earned him a hard punch in the arm from Lily.
"Ouch! You can't blame me I'm a guy," she rolled her eyes at him glancing to Eva and back at me.
"Is she going to be alright?" Lily asked with concern written all over her face.
"I think so," I got off the couch and walked to the kitchen to get a glass of water, to say I was worried was an understatement watching your friend have a panic attack and faint in front of you can take a serious toll on you.
Friend.....
I never thought that we were friends, sure I love hanging out with her she's funny, spunky, sarcastic, feisty, crazy, she makes me happy.
I was pulled out of my thoughts when I felt a body sit next to me on the counter.
"I'm proud of you little bro," he said ruffling my hair taking an apple from the fruit basket."Why? What did I do?"
"The way you handled that back there, I was really impressed. My little brother is growing up".
"Yeah thanks," I rested my head in my arms trying to calm my nerves and relax.
"You really care about her don't you?" He piped up taking a huge bit from his apple.
"Yea she's my friend, I don't want anything to happen to her. Friends look out for each other," he had this expression on his face that I'd never seen before and he smiled. Not the usual smirk or teasing smile I'd normally see him with but a genuine smile.
I apologised to Lily about movie night, being the supportive friend she is she wasn't mad we rescheduled, promised she'd come to check on Eva and she went home. I sat on the couch I was on earlier staring at her lifeless body, the only sound in the room was her rythmic breathing and lowly snoring, she looked so peaceful tranquillity gracing her features it made me crack a smile.
"Aren't you going to bed?" Stephen said behind me. It was almost 3am and I was dead tired, the only upside to this was tomorrow's Saturday so I get to sleep in.
"Maybe later, you can go," he gave me a two finger salute and jogged up the stairs.
"Oh Jay," I turned my head to look at him "try and get some sleep".
__________
I woke up to the sound of heavy breathing.Eva! She's having another panic attack.
My eyes shot open and I shot off the couch kneeling in front of Eva.
"Eva it's me, Jay," I said shaking her shoulders. Her breathing became slower and her eyes focused on me in bewilderment. I engulfed her in a giant hug."I'm so happy you're okay," I whispered into her ear. She hugged me back digging her face into the crook of my neck.
"Thank you", she said in a weak voice.
Her touch sent tingles round my body, hearing her voice was like a sweet melody in my ear, I was beyond happy when I saw her beautiful eyes open. I couldn't even imagine what I'd do if she wasn't okay, I met Eva a couple months ago and we've become so close.
At that moment I heard the front door open, we released each other as we looked at who came in.
My mother.
Her eyes widened, eyes flying to Eva then me and my dishevelled state then to the bandage on Eva ankle and back to me.
She quirked her eye brow looking at me, "I hope I'm not interrupting anything."
