IT WAS the first day back at school. The werewolf, the witch, the vampire and the human all stood in disbelief as they stared at the large building. Kristina found their current situation quite humorous, it sounded like the start of a bad joke. The werewolf often found herself wondering why she even turned up to the high school but the real reason was because she wanted to try to live a normal life and get the full experience of being a teenager.

Fortunately for her, if she did not feel like turning up to school that day, she had Damon to compel the teachers to ignore her constant absence.

"Here we are. Senior year." Caroline beamed as she turned to them.

"Anyone else think it should feel slightly more empowering?" Bonnie asked, narrowing her eyes and raising her brows.

The blonde vampire sighed as she attempted to shed some light on the situation. "Ok, so prank night was a bust. But we are accepting it and we are moving on."

"You're right. I mean, why should I let the fact that my boyfriend is seeing the ghost of his dead girlfriend hinder this experience?" Bonnie sarcastically reminded with an eye roll.

Caroline smiled and she exclaimed "Yes!"

"And why should I let the fact that my boyfriend was turned into a Hybrid put a damper on an otherwise fabulous day." Kristina pronounced enthusiastically, sarcasm practically dripping off her tongue.

Caroline looked at her with disapprovement and distaste at Kristina's attitude. As the three girls turned to walk towards the entrance, Elena's voice stopped them mid stride. Her tone was sad as her eyes looked at the ground "Today's our anniversary. Technically, Stefan and I met on the first day of school last year."

"Yeah. You win" Kristina admitted discouraged, shielding her eyes from the sun.

"Are you sure you want to be here." Bonnie asked

"I have to be here. I have to put it behind me." Elena straightened as she forced a smile on her lips. New year. New life."

Caroline shook her as she beamed "Well we have to be here for each other, throughout all of this supernatural we've stayed together so let's put on some smiles and pretend like it's going to be a kick ass senior year."

For the werewolf, the start of senior year had already given her mixed emotions. There were events being planned left, right and centre which led to Kristina being dragged against her will by Caroline as they hung up flyers advertising the bonfire. The werewolf did not like people too much, it was due to her over ruling loneliness that had only grown over the years, but nevertheless she attempted to forget the past.
