Kristina huffed as she sat on the living room couch, awaiting Elena to return from the basement where Alaric was locked up in order to keep him and his alter ego at bay. Damon and Stefan were bickering about Klaus and why Elena and Damon were going together to find Jeremy and all Kristina wanted to do was bash her own head in for at least the one hundredth time.

"I like that confidence Stefan. I don't share it, but I like it." Damon said.

"You don't think I can do what it takes?" Stefan remarked, addressing Damons sarcasm.

Kristina dragged her head from the couch cushion and held herself up at the arm rest as her hair remained sprawled all over her face "Is there ever a time where you two aren't at each other's throats? Asking for a friend."

Damon glanced at Kristina patronisingly "Well, you're good Stefan again. You're in control. Sorry, you might get the girl but you lose the edge. Speaking of..." Elena walked in on cue. "Have you ever flown first class?"

"Who did you have to compel for that?" Elena retorted and Damon scoffed.

"Please. I used miles."

"Or in other words...he slept with the flight attendant." Kristina smiled and Damon flipped her off before leaving the house. Kristina stood up and walked over next to Stefan and Elena gave him a longing look.

"Stefan..."

"Be safe." He interrupted, a genuine smile spread across his lips. Elena gave a weary look and suddenly the atmosphere rose. Kristina hugged Elena goodbye to break the sudden silence.

"I'll see you soon." Elena nodded and with that she left, following after Damon.

Kristina carried the box of decorations to the table where Matt was stood, instantly looking through the box to organise the supplies. The decade dance was nearing and as per usual, Caroline had forced their friends to help out as a form of school spirit. Caroline waltzed into the room and her face suddenly changed to dismay and she glanced at the decor. "What is this?"

"It's the decade dance." Matt said, freezing his actions.

Kristina rolled her eyes playfully "Remember, you made us sign up to help."

"No." Caroline shook picking up the scarf "This! The twenties. We're doing the seventies."

"It's too flashy people. It's supposed to be a speakeasy not the worlds fair." Rebekah told the volunteering students before spotting the trio "Oh, good, you're here. We need help setting up the tables, so get to it."

Caroline frowned spitefully "What do you think you're doing?"

"Somebody has to be in charge."
