"We're ready," Piper called. The doors of the Big House opened wide for me to go through. Small wood nymphs grew flowers and dropped them on their path. Satyrs played the traditional wedding tunes on their reeds.
I looked around the crowd hoping to see someone in particular, and then give him a piece of my mind.
Of course, Hades wasn't there for his own son's wedding, so Chiron walked me down the aisle. Everyone else was there, Percy, Annabeth, Piper, Jason, Frank, Hazel, even Leo and some girl named Calypso made it. (long story)
At the end of the aisle stood Will looking as dashing as ever in his spiffy tuxedo. Next to him, though, my old tree friend, Thalia stood there in her beautiful bridesmaid dress. Then I looked down at the end of the dress to see it trashed beyond repair. Typical Thalia.
I finally made it to the end of the aisle after what had seemed like an eternity. Chiron was also our "pastor" starting us out with all the basic wedding crap. Finally, it came to the part where we said stuff.
"Do you, William Solace, take this man to be your lawfully wedded husband?"
"I do." Will made it sound so easy and simple. how?
"And, do you, Nicholas-"
"My real name isn't Nicholas." I snapped. Chiron raised his eyebrow. Will elbowed me.
"Fine, my real name is Nicholas," I sighed.
"Do you, Nicholas di Angelo, take this man to be your lawfully wedded husband?"
I looked around hoping for someone to help me out. Percy and Annabeth were taking pictures. Piper and Jason were too busy with Piper's big pregnant belly to be paying full attention to me, Leo was practically trying not to bounce off the walls, and Thalia, oh boy, she was trying to get something out of her teeth.
It all came down to me. I took a deep breath, "I d-" bbbblllllllllgggghhhhhh. I looked around. So did everyone else. Who had made that fart noise?
It didn't matter. What mattered right now was me saying those two little words.
"I d-" the culprit did it again. The same loud annoying fart noise.
"I DO!!!" I yelled before they could do it again. I relaxed. I did it.
"Congratulations," Chiron concluded, "you may kiss the groom."
And I did. I kissed him. I kissed him like I would never be able to kiss him again. And he kissed me back. And everyone applauded, and everything was going perfect, and apparently, Thalia had gotten that piece of food stuck between her teeth, out. And everything was going to be alright... Or was it.
