"Tell me about your Christmas break."
A question uttered a thousand times. It's worn out and tired by now. Why does Frank have to answer? It's no one's business.
So maybe something happened. He's not gonna tell the world though.
"Honestly, nothing," Frank grits his teeth and replies quickly, heart starting to feel heavy in his chest.
Hopefully no one can tell he's lying.
Pete accepts the answer with a shrug, not thinking twice about it. Good.
"I'm just glad to be around normal people finally. Holidays are fucking suffocating. Too many Mormons," Brendon remarks.
"Too many Mormons," Ray repeats the words. "Sounds like the name of a really bad sitcom about a closeted gay teen living life, pretending to be religious."
"Brendon you should audition," Ryan pipes up, looking at the mentioned boy, pointedly.
Brendon scoffs. "How funny. Too bad I'm not gay." He smiles, seemingly innocent.
"It's called acting for a reason dipshit," Frank tunes back in.
Brendon just purses his lips in a way of saying 'Of course I knew that'.
"Guys, can you believe that exams are in three weeks?" Ray changes the subject.
"Fuck," Pete curses.
"I got it in the fucking bag," Ryan smirks.
"I'm sorry we're not all as boring as you, Ryan," Spencer jokes.
"Jesus Christ, lay off of it, Spence, you're doing almost as good and I am in some classes," Ryan defends himself and Spencer just shrugs.
"I don't think I'll fail anything," Frank says just to say something. He really hates that the semester is coming to an end. No more music. No more English. School has fucked him over.
"You're taking art next semester, right Frank?" Brendon asks.
Frank's moody but not enough to blatantly ignore everyone.
"Yeah, I am, which is quite unfortunate considering how shit I am at it," Frank replies, honestly. "I only took it for-"
And suddenly Frank feel's the name die on his lips.
People are talking again. They've moved on.
Him and Gerard aren't on bad terms. They just don't... talk that often. They made up, right, but Frank still feels his chest hurt when he so much as thinks about the boy.
Gerard doesn't need Frank anymore. He's got Bert.
Frank's only met the guy once but it's enough to make his skin crawl when the thought of him pops up. Frank's just over-protective about his best friend and its fucking weird but guess what, so's life.
Gerard hasn't been hanging out with them lately. He meets with Bert on lunch breaks, it's easy when his school is only a ten minute walk away.
Bert might be good at art but honestly how much better is he than Frank.
Probably a lot fucking better...
