TW: Mentions of abuse, and the aftermath of it (the event isn't described at all, just the results)

May is such a weird month. Everyone's too focused on graduating and passing classes that nobody really hangs out anymore. Frank started his job working at Pizza Place, and his boss, Gwen, has taken a liking to him. Jay, Frank's older brother, has apparently knocked up his girlfriend, and he had an epiphany, resulting in the cleansing of his soul (which means no more weed). And oh yeah, Frank is totally crushing on his best friend, who has a boyfriend by the way.

Frank still frequently hung out with Gerard, but everything was awkward, as they never discussed that kiss, and they never discussed feelings or anything of the like.

It was a long-awaited discovery for Frank, to come to terms with his real feelings for Gerard, what with how long he'd been pining after the boy. And he'd thought about kissing him like a million times a day, but every time he tried to say something or go for it, he'd freeze up.

It wasn't even so much of a surprise to Frank that he was into guys. Whatever he was, bi or pan, he didn't feel scared about it. There was a part of him that sort of always knew, but was in denial for a while.

But he'd remind himself that, platonic kisses are a rare... but real thing. And Gerard said that he loved him, but that's perfectly reasonable for friends to say that. Frank's doesn't want to get his hopes up for nothing, so he tells himself to forget.

Except he can't forget, and instead wallows in self pity.

This would be the perfect thing to talk to April about. But... April was never really April, she was Jamia's first girlfriend, Lindsey. And this really hurt Frank, to find out that someone he trusted and spent so much time talking to and with, wasn't really them. The only thing Frank couldn't understand, was Lindsey's motives.

Anyways, he hadn't talked to her since May, and he wouldn't admit that he missed her.

With all these things suffocating Frank's mind, he's dragged his problems to Jamia, who's been helpful. When Frank confessed his feelings for Gerard, she wasn't surprised, instead she gave him a tub of ice cream and they watched Disney movies.

It's now June, the last month of school. How time flies by so quickly.

Frank, Jamia, and Brendon are eating their cake, they'd made in first period, excitedly, as it's one of their best hospitality projects yet. They were excused out of second period class to pick it up.

"We actually did a really good job on this," Brendon remarks, mouth full. He puts up his hand for a high five from both of his partners.

Suddenly the bell rings, and they scarf down as much as they can before grabbing lunch and meeting outside with the rest of their friends.

Pete and Mikey are off in their own world, probably savouring the last of their high school days together. Frank often forgot that Mikey was two years younger than them, meaning Pete was graduating this year, leaving Mikey behind.

"I'm never talking to Melanie again," Hayley announces, and Frank has to stop himself from rolling his eyes.

More girl drama.

"What the fuck's going on now?" Jamia questions.

"She refuses to be nice to Ashley," Hayley explains.

"Costello?" Cassie wonders.

"No, the other one. Um, blue hair? You know," Hayley corrects her.
