I looked up startled to find a boy of around 16 to 17 years old crouched down before me with a worried expression on his face. His blonde hair was rather untidy and he had greenish blue eyes that were staring into mine quite intently. Quickly brushing away my tears, I scrambled for a reply.

"Yes I'm fine, I'm just clearing my head."

"Are you sure, you seem quite upset."

"I'm perfectly alright."

He looked at me thoughtfully for a second before extending his hand to me.

"My name's Jack."

"Emma," I said before shaking his hand. His grip was warm and firm.

"Are you from around here?" he asked before getting up and dusting off his pants. He was quite tall, around 5ft 6 with gangly arms and legs.

"Yes, you?"

"I'm from Brampton."

I widened my eyes slightly when he said it and it didn't escape his notice.

"You've been there?"

"I've been meaning to go there but I have nowhere to stay."

"You could come and stay with us."

"You're serious?" He nodded affirmatively.

My eyes widened slightly at his offer and my brows furrowed as I thought of my options. I could leave with him in the morning, which would be quite safe. For his age, he was probably staying with his family as well.

"Us?"

"Well you can stay with me, my mother and my brother. Speaking of my brother." He looked down the path to where another person was walking towards us. He was even taller than Jack, and clearly a little older. As he came closer, I realized he was around 19-20 years old with jet-black hair and intense dark blue eyes. Unlike his brother, he was leanly muscled and his posture radiated confidence and ease. When he was close enough, his eyes first fixed on his brother before turning to me, clearly confused as he ran one of his hand through his hair.

"This is Emma. I was just offering to let her stay with us in Brampton for a couple of days, Jack explained.

His blue eyes looked back at me and he stared for a long moment like he was memorizing my face before extending his hand to me.

"Michel," he said and shook my hand with a firm grip before he pulled me up to my feet. I gasped slightly and he looked at me with an amused expression as a cocky grin spread across his face. His eyes twinkled as his eyes glanced once down to my lips before glancing back up to my eyes.

"Will you come with us," he asked in a low deep voice before releasing his hold on my hand.

"Can I tell you in the morning," I said, my voice sounding slightly uneven.

Jack nodded before telling me where to meet him. I could feel Michel's gaze on me as I listened to what Jack was saying, trying not to get distracted.

"Well then we'll see you tomorrow," Jack said before continuing down the worn path. I turned to Michel who lifted my hand pressed his soft lips lightly to the back of it before straightening to meet my eyes.

"It was nice meeting you," he said with a wink before following his brother.
