So that's why Kageyama was parked outside Hinata's house at 4 AM.
He peered out of the window. It was a nice house, very pretty. He could see some pink curtains, and assumed they were Hinata's sister's.
Suddenly, the short boy appeared in front of the window. Kageyama jumped at the surprise, and Hinata opened the door and pulled himself into the car, setting his bag on his lap.
"I thought you were joking about coming...thank you." He said.
"I'm not an ass, of course I was going to come." The taller boy remarked, sighing.
"Well I figured since you don't sleep-"
"Shut it, I sleep."
"Rarely." Hinata smirked.

"Why did you even text me? Aren't you supposed to be asleep or something?"
"I don't want to talk about it, Kageyama."
"I don't care. You are."
"No!" The short boy growled.
"Hinata, I will drop you back off at your house if you don't-"
"I had a fight with my parents." He didn't say anything else.
"That's stupid! You need to go back."

"I'm not going back." Hinata stared out of the window.
"So what are you going to do?" Kageyama asked, driving.
"I'm staying at your house." He said, matter-of-factly.
"Did I know about this...?" Kageyama asked.
"No." The boy answered.
"Oh," the setter thought. "Hinata, you're such a dumbass!" He yelled.

"Why?!" He looked over at Kageyama.
"Because you need to face your own problems!"
Hinata rolled his eyes.
"Kageyama, I can't!"
The taller boy sighed, and looked over at the shorter one.
"Why not?" He said.

He didn't answer, and Kageyama drove in silence. He stopped at a light, and Hinata finally answered him.

"I just can't...I promise I'll explain, but not now. Not until I fix it." He said.
Kageyama bit his lip, and they pulled into his driveway.
"Where the hell are you even going to sleep? My parents don't know you're here, either!" He whispered harshly.
"I didn't think that through...in your floor, maybe?" Hinata sheepishly smiled, and Kageyama scoffed.

"That's actually not a bad idea." He thought it over.
Kageyama led Hinata over to the back of the house, and Hinata could see a slightly opened window with a ladder. Kageyama had already begun climbing.
"Come on, dumbass Hinata." He whispered, already in the room.
Hinata climbed up the ladder, and they were both in the room.
Hinata sighed and sat on the bed, looking around the room.

"I'm sorry." He said.
"For what?" Kageyama looked at him.
"Everything...." He said shortly, and Kageyama understood. "For not explaining, either."
The setter rolled his eyes, and opened his closet door, not replying. A blanket fell out and a pillow hit him in the head.

Hinata tried his best not to die laughing.

Kageyama gave him a death look and threw him a pillow and the blanket, and then put another blanket down so he didn't have to sleep on the floor.
"Keep it down, everyone is sleeping."

Hinata rolled his eyes and sat on the floor.
"Why did you pick me up?" He asked softly.
"Because I'm a good person."
"No, really, why?" Hinata didn't believe him.
"I already told you...and it's because you're my friend, of sorts. I have two." He said confidently.
Hinata chuckled softly, and sighed. Kageyama went and turned off the light.

"This is still better than in my house." Hinata said softly.
Kageyama didn't reply, and the redhead thought he was asleep.

"How so?" He finally answered.
"Are you kidding? It's hell there now. My mom is super mad at me." He whispered.

Yet again, he didn't respond.
"You better improve if I let you stay here." He finally answered.
"You're acting like Tsukishima." Hinata said sassily.
"Am not."
"Are too." Hinata replied.
"Shut up."

Hinata bit his lip.
"Thank you." He said, barely a whisper.
"Don't thank me." He said, and rolled over.
Hinata fell asleep.

He woke to the kind words of
"SHIT, SHIT, GET UNDER THE BED! SOMEONE IS COMING, HINATA, WAKE UP!"

Quite charming, really. So, being the smallest, he groggily rolled under the bed and he could hear Kageyama talking to someone. It went on for a while and Hinata felt like he was going to suffocate under there.

"Come on. That was close." Kageyama mumbled.
Hinata squirmed out.
"Glad I wasn't suffocating or anything." He says, pouting.
"Shut up, dumbass."

He plops on the bed. "Now what?" He asks.
"What do you mean, now what?" Kageyama looked at him.
"I mean what am I supposed to do now? I feel terrible, but I can't go back." Hinata mumbled, matter-of-factly.

Kageyama realized the short boy had brought a bag with him.
"What did you bring with you?" He asks.
"My phone, some headphones, a phone charger...clothes...."
Kageyama nods.
"Wait, don't you have a sister?"
"Yeah." Hinata says softly.
"She's going to be worried."
The short boy bites his lip. "Stop trying to make me feel bad."
"I'm not, I'm just being serious."
"Kageyama, you're ALWAYS serious!" Hinata sighed and flopped on the bed.

"Shut it, dumbass."
Hinata chortles.
"You couldn't even come up with a comeback." He said sassily.

"I can! I just decided not to!" He said, rolling his eyes and pushing the boy with his foot.
"Whatever." The small boy yawns.
"I'm starving." He placed a hand on his hip.

"Sorry." The setter rolled his eyes.
"What?! Do you want me to starve?!"
"I guess not, just go eat some roadkill or something."
"I CAN'T EAT ROADKILL!" Hinata yelled.
"But you are roadkill, Hinata!" Kageyama fired back.
"Wow, that was harsh."

The two sat in silence.
"Your floor is actually kind of nice." Hinata said, spinning a volleyball he found.
"Give me that!" Kageyama took it.
"And how is a floor nice..?" He added.
"It was comfortable."

Silence takes its toll, and finally Hinata decides to begin talking again.
"Hey Kageyamaaaaaaaa~!" Hinata says.
"What the hell do you want, Hinata?"
"Well, two satellites get married." Hinata began, and Kageyama could already tell where this was going.
"The ceremony was okay, but the reception was great!" Hinata shouted.

"Did you just-"
Hinata grinned sheepishly.
"Maybe."
