"I'm saying I love you, dumbass."
From the age of eleven, Hinata had realized he was different.
He couldn't exactly put his finger on what made him different, though. He was happy in middle school, and practiced all he could, and didn't do drugs or anything dumb like that. He didn't distract himself with anything like girlfriends. Not that he'd want one, anyways. But when he saw Daichi and Suga together, and the different aura they had around each other, he realized what that difference was.
He didn't want a girlfriend, he wanted a boyfriend.
Which was quite convenient, being the state he was in currently. He snapped out of his shock, blinking twice.
"Did you hear me..?" Kageyama asked, biting his lip. The boy remained silent.
"I did." He finally answered.
"Oh." Kageyama said.
It was awkward and silent for a minute."W-Well, I guess you're pretty cool too." He awkwardly mumbled.
Kageyama paused for a minute."That's it?" He asked.
"What do you mean, Kageyama?" Hinata cocked his head."I just said that I love you, and you don't even-" Kageyama was cut off by Hinata, who promptly slapped him in the face.
"What the hell was that for?!" He asked, slightly more hurt than angry.
The short boy paused, sighing.
"You're such an idiot. Do you really think I don't like you? I mean, seriously, if I didn't, I wouldn't put up with you for this long." He said, staring up at Kageyama. He was dumbfounded. "So you like me back?" He asked, looking at Hinata.
"Mmhm." He easily said, running a hand through his mass of hair.Kageyama nodded furiously, obviously confused at his feelings.
Hinata smiled softly.
"Don't do that." The setter said, referencing to Hinata's smiling."What? Why?" He said, looking at Kageyama.
"Because you look cute." He mumbled, blushing heavily."Isn't that a good thing..?" Hinata was just as new to this as Kageyama was, and it was going to be very awkward for a while. Hopefully not, but this is Kageyama and Hinata we're talking about.
"I-I dunno." He mumbled.
Hinata rolled his eyes and left the dining room. One thing was for sure– he was slightly nervous.
Besides, his mother wouldn't be that big of a fan of Kageyama, anyways.Hinata checked his feed on tumblr, sinking into the couch.
He plugged his earbuds into his phone, curling into a little ball. He liked this, blocking all out sound except the music that flooded his ears. It was quite loud, but so was Hinata. His life had just taken a huge turn, like it or not.
Kageyama mainly didn't have time for relationships, so he avoided them. He'd only been in one once in his entire life, and the whole thing collapsed, and in the end, he lost a friend. So, it was easy to say that Kageyama couldn't let his feelings get in the way of anything at all. His parents were out for the week, too, so he couldn't really avoid Hinata if anything went awry.
Not that they could or would, of course. Definitely not.
Hinata had fallen asleep, one earbud fallen out on the couch beside him. He was quite tired, and as soon as Kageyama saw him, the setter stopped.
Hinata looked so damn cute.He crossed over next to the boy and pressed his cheek.
"Mm...?" Hinata stirred slightly, moving one hand to brush his cheek.Kageyama bit his lip to keep from laughing, choosing to just watch the boy.
He was so nice and peaceful and-"WHAT ARE YOU DOING THIS CLOSE TO MY FACE?!" Hinata yelled, shooting up.
"No, it's-" Kags blushed.
"STALKER!" He yelled, hitting him with a pillow. Kageyama rolled his eyes and grabbed Hinata's wrists, pinning him down.
"I promise I wasn't stalking you, I have better things to do." He said, releasing him.Hinata rolled his eyes.
"Can I kiss you?" He finally asked. Kageyama scoffed. "No!" He laughed. Hinata seemed hurt at this.
"I thought you liked me!"
He rolled his eyes. "I'm not just going to kiss you randomly."Hinata crossed his arms. "Good, I didn't want you to anyways."
"Good."
"FINE!" Hinata rolled his eyes.
Kageyama crossed over and sat on the couch opposite of him."But, if I were to kiss you...I'd do it when you'd least expect it. Probably sometime this week." He said, not-so-subtly giving the answer to Hinata.
Hinata looked slightly nervous, nodding profusely. Kageyama didn't notice this at all, and sighed softly, leaning his head back.
"Oh, you'll never guess what I saw today." He said tiredly, rolling his eyes.
"Hmm?" Hinata pulled out an earbud, cocking his head.
"Apparently Tsukishima and Yamaguchi are a thing." He scoffed at the sheer stupidity of the statement."He doesn't even like Yamaguchi!" Hinata practically yelled, his hair messed up.
"I guess he likes him enough." He answered, rolling his eyes.Hinata scoffed. Kageyama smirked slightly, not wanting to fully smile.
"You know what we could do with this, dumbass?"
Hinata paused and finally caught on."Blackmail!" Hinata smiled widely, laughing evilly.
"Only if we need to use it..but I feel like we might." He said, inching closer to Hinata.Of course, they wouldn't do anything. It wasn't their business, not their relationship.
Which no one was ever going to find out about.
"Maybe the others were right.." Kageyama mumbled. The older Karasuno boys had warned Kageyama, and almost everyone else that relationships on the team weren't a very good idea.
However, that didn't stop Suga and Daichi. But they weren't supposed to talk about that.
"You realize we could get into a lot of trouble for....whatever t-this is." Kageyama referenced their relationship.
"What do you mean?" He mumbled, staring at Kageyama."I mean Suga told us not to have any relationships." Kageyama muttered.
"That's not going to stop me." Hinata said, biting his lip."Of course it isn't, Hinata." He said, crossing his legs.
"Mmhm." Hinata hummed.
"I'm going to bed." Kageyama replied, rolling his eyes."O-oh, I will too." Hinata nodded, getting up tiredly. The pair brushed their teeth and put pajamas on (though, not at the same time).
Hinata got into the floor, on the makeshift bed. Kageyama shuffled to the bed, laying down with a sigh.
He looked at the short boy for about three seconds until making his decision.
"Get up here." He said, rolling his eyes.
"Really?" Hinata's eyes lit up.
"Yes. Before I change my mind, preferably." The boy said, and he felt Hinata scramble up next to him."C-can you hold me like they do in the movies?" Hinata mumbled.
Kageyama blushed deeply. Holding usually led to a lot of other things.
"U-Um..I'm not really good at that...kind of stuff." He muttered.
"Just try." Hinata really wanted to be cuddled. Kageyama obliged and put an arm around Hinata, which lasted about fifteen seconds."Your arm is in my face." Hinata complained.
"That wouldn't be a problem if you weren't three feet tall."
"Excuse me!! I'm 162.8 centimeters tall, which roughly translates to 5.3!"
"Same thing." He said, but he moved his arm down slightly.
He heard Hinata mumble a thanks and listened as his breathing slowed, and he fell asleep. If it was only that easy.
