I groaned, rolling over in my bed. Today, was the first day of classes. I climbed down from my bed. I didn't use the latter, that just felt like it took longer.

From our very cramped closet, I picked out an outfit. Jillian was out of the room, she must be at the bathrooms. Alaina was still in bed, and Maya was adjusting her skirt she already had on.

I found a pair of skinny jeans from my dresser and wiggled into them.

"Alaina, you're going to be late for your first day of classes." I told her.

"Shut up." She groaned, covering her head.

"Just trying to help." I said, innocently.

I slipped on a pair of ankle socks, then pulled on my hightop white converse. Hightop converse are honestly so much of a struggle.

"Good morning, girls!" Jillian came in the room, cheerfully.

"Good morning, Jill!" Maya answered, looking at herself in the mirror.

"You look wonderful, just go finish in the bathroom!" Jillian assured her, shoving her out of the room.

Maya giggled, and walked out of the room.

"What are you going to do with your hair?" Jillian asked me. I shrugged. "I can braid if for you!"

I smiled and nodded. I sat down at the swivel chair, and she divided my hair into two sections.

"I'm going to do Dutch braids, is that okay?" She asked.

"Yes," I answered. She started braiding my hair.

"So, where were you living before? You must have lived so many cool places!" She exaggerates.

"I was living in Florida." I answer shortly. "And you?"

"I'm from Washington," she answers.

"Oh, I love it there!" I answer honestly.

We sit and talk while she braids my hair, she asks me questions about myself, just me, in a way that didn't feel like it had an ulterior motive. I get to know her too, she comes from a wealthy family, but her parents work obsessively.

She finished my hair, and I thanked her. Alaina finally got out of bed. She was wearing skinny jeans, hightop converse, and a leather jacket. Her long blonde hair naturally straight.

I went to the bathroom to put some makeup on. After I was finished, I was ready to get headed to my classes.

Today I woke up with plenty of time to get ready, but it most definitely won't be like the rest of the year. I'll probably be like Alaina tomorrow.

Alaina, Jillian, Maya and I walked from our dorm to where the classes were. I loved that California had really nice weather. If it didn't, this would probably be miserable.

"Anyone spark your interest, Tegan?" Alaina asks me, sarcastically.

I laugh, and shake my head. "Not yet."
