Chapter Eighteen

Tomorrow is my dad's birthday. Of course I want to make something special. I plan to bake my own chocolate cake, his favorite. Cindy told me it's fine to do it by her house.

I went to the supermarket and bought the ingredients.

I drove my way to Cindy's house.

I knock on the door.

Cindy answers, "What took you so long?" She says as I go inside.

"I waited for dad to go. He has this kind of Parent-Teacher conference again in his school." I say and place the paperpag i'm holding on the island counter.

"What do you like to make?" She ask.

"I don't know yet, but I like... uhm... chocolate cake." I grin.

"Okay, I'll just watch you here. I told you that I have nothing to do in the kitchen." She laughs and sit by the dining table. Cindy doesn't know how to cook. She can fry and toast but not the complex ones. Not that she doesn't know or not willing to learn, but she just don't like cooking.

"Where are your parents?" I ask as I start baking. I remembered the last time I baked, I am with Ian. Intimate moment.

"They will be not here until evening and my brother will come home late. You know, college life." Cindy has a brother. Not to mention, he is super duper hot! He is three years older than Cindy. I have a crush on him ever since. Cindy knew that.

"Now that I have a boyfriend, I still think your brother is so hot. I mean, Cris." I say dreamily and laugh.

"Before, I thought that I am your bestfriend only because of him." She raise her brows.

I laugh. "You're so dramatic!"

We have those girl talks about boyfies. I know you might have experienced talking to your bestfriend/s about things and wondering if somebody ever heard you talk about it, they'll think you're crazy. Well that's how we usually talk. About crazy stuff.

"You and Jace...? What's the news?" I ask her after we talked about some crazy stuff.

"Well..." She smile flirtly.

"Oh my gosh, really? It's official then?"

"Yes. Few days after the double date we had―"

"Oh, you have...?" I shouted to my surprise.

"What? Let me finish first!" She say. I know that she already knows what I'm talking about. Just playing along.

"You know! Come on, did you?"

"Almost." She smiles.

"What do you mean by 'Almost'?!" I raise my brows.

"Yes. Yes we did." She admits like irritated.

"Seriously?!" I asked surprised.

"Yep."

"Don't tell me inside a car." I joked.

She stare at me.

Okay so it is really in a car. I laugh. "Really?"

"So? Like that you and Ian don't do that." She smiles.

"Gross. No. We haven't." I say.

"Gross? I don't believe you aren't doing it." She fold her hands.

"Honestly, no." I smile sincerely.

"Why? You don't like, huh?"

"Him too. I asked him but he told me that he gave his word to my dad that he'll wait and it's not the only thing that will prove that I love him back." I told her what Jillian told me.
