Ashton's POV;
A blood-curdling scream ripped through the house. I flew out of my bed and stumbled into Marie's room, stubbing my toe in the process. When I opened her door she was curled up in a ball completely under her covers.
"Marie!" I sat on the edge of her bed and gently shook her. "Marie, wake up!"
She sat straight up and pushed me off the bed. I landed on the floor and immediately got right back onto her bed. Her eyes were opened wide, and she was drenched in a cold sweat with a hand cupped over her mouth.
"Marie," I said softly, "Are you okay?"
"N-No. Mitchell came back!"
"No, he didn't, baby. He's not here, your fine."
After reassuring her several times, I was able to return to my room. I flopped onto my bed and looked at the clock. 5 am. I had an hour and a half till school. Maybe I'll just skip it......
Marie's POV;
Last night was terrible. I had a nightmare that Mitchell came back and tried to take me away. Ashton came in and stayed with me for a little while, but I still couldn't fall asleep.
He called me baby. Did he really have feelings for me? Or was I just overreacting?
I woke up and looked at my clock, 9 am. I sprang out of bed. I was late for school!
I ran down the stairs and Ashton was calmly eating a bowl of cereal, scrolling through his phone.
"Ashton! It's 9 o'clock!"
"Sooooooo"
"We have school! Why didn't you wake me up?"
"We both had a rough night, so I was thinking we should skip school today."
Well, that was a new idea. I'd never purposely missed a day of school before, but there's a first time for everything. Right?
That's one thing I like about Ashton. He's very carefree and laid back.
I dropped my bag on the floor, and let my shoulders drop.
"Okay, what were you thinking?"
