Marie's POV;
I crept onto the windowsill and was preparing to jump to Ashton, when a hand shot out the window and grabbed me around the neck.

I tried the scream but my air supply was quickly cut off.

"Finally I got the girl of my dreams." Justin cackled.

I could smell the alcohol on his breath and wanted to puke, but I was still held captive.

"Your gonna come with me and we'll have a ball." Justin whispered in my ear.

I tried to resist him but I couldn't. I kicked and tried to scratch him but to no avail. He started dragging me towards his room and I knew I had to get out of this situation fast.

I wriggled my body just enough to have complete control of my right leg, even though I was still suspended in the air, by Justin's twitching arms.

I wound up the courage and I kicked Justin right where the sun doesn't shine.

He doubled over in pain and loosened his grip enough for me to escape.

My feet hit the ground and I started running. At first, I was a shaken out of my senses so I ran into the wall. Not one of my proudest moments.

I stumbled down the stairs and saw the front door in sight. I was just about two feet away from the doorknob when once again I felt strong arms wrap around my waist and a hand clamp against my mouth. I started to panic and began to kick and scratch again.

"Hey! Shhh!" The voice sounded as if it was in pain.

The body loosened its grip enough for me to turn around and see who my capturer was.

It was a boy I didn't recognize. He had chestnut hair and sparkling green eyes.

When I found my voice I tried to scream. He quickly replaced his hand over my mouth.

"If you value your life don't make a sound." I quickly held my breath and flicked my eyes to the ceiling above us.

He waited a minute and looked around fearfully. After a minute or two, he looked back to me.

"Whatever you do don't scream! Would you like to have a civilized conversation?"

I nodded my head in agreement. He removed his hand from my mouth and I licked my dry lips.

I was the first to speak.

"Who are you?"

Ashton's POV;
Marie was so close to making it out before Justin got her. I screamed her name but got no response.

This worried me. Justin could be quite dangerous when he drank, which I was assuming he did.

Once he was legally old enough to drink it all went downhill. Why do you think my mom fled?

I had been sent to the ER several times after his little outbursts. Close to death once with a collapsed lung.

I had to save Marie. I limped my way towards the front door. I reached the porch and stumbled up the steps. I twisted the doorknob. But much to my dismay it was locked.
