A week has passed since Gabriel met his father and to say that he loved him was an understatement. If you were to see them you would of never known that they have only now each other for a week. The bond they instantly have is amazing. They would spend the day together and when it was time for Gabe to go to bed Bryson tucked would him in and said his prays with him. I've never see Bryson smile so much in my life. You see this other side of him, this softer side that I've never really seen. It was very attractive.

There were just two problems. One, Gabriel still didn't know that the man he's been spending time with was his father and two, Bryson has barley said a word to me because of it. Your probably wondering what I'm waiting on. I just don't know how Gabe was going to take it. I mean once he asked me why his friends had a father and he didn't and the only thing I could think of to tell him was that his dad was far away too far away to get to him. I know it was a sorry excuse but I didn't know what to say and I didn't want to lied to him and say something like, He died or He walked out on us" and even though the second one was kind of true, only he didn’t walk out on Gabriel, he walked out on me.

I decided to call Bryson and tell him I was ready to tell Gabriel the truth. He told me it was about time and that I didn't need to worry, that for Gabriel's age he was very anachronistic. Gabe had a very old soul, and it amazed me sometime how he talked. So here we were setting in my parents’ living room trying to figure out the best way to say this

"Lil man I brought you something" Bryson said taking his wallet out

"What is it!?" Gabe asked excitedly jumping in his seat. Bryson pulled out a picture and handed it to him. It was a picture of what looked to be Gabriel but I knew it wasn't. It was a picture of Bryson at the age that Gabe was currently in. "Look mama" Gabe said holding the picture out to me" it’s a picture of me" I looked at Bryson but he was looking at Gabriel

'No this is a picture of me" Bryson said. Gabe looked at him confused

“Now it’s not" He said shaking his head and looking back at the picture" I know what I look like"

"It is, that's me at your age"

“You look just like me" Gabe said looking at Bryson who laughed a little

"Well technically you look like me"

"How?"

"Because..." Bryson said taking at deep breath and lifting Gabe's chin to look at him" I'm your father" I held my breath waiting to see his reaction, and for a minute he didn't give us one. Then all of a sudden Gabe backed away from him. Hurt was written all over Bryson's face. Gabe looked at me

"It’s that true mama" Gabe asked looking up at me

"Yes, it’s the truth" I answered once I found my voice. Gabe looked back at him and glared at little which shocked me because I've never seen him to that before

“Where you been" He asked him looking down playing with his hands.

"I came as soon as I could" Bryson said his voice cracking a little. When Gabe didn't say anything he cleared his throat and looked at me." Maybe I should go" Bryson said standing up. I stood up as well not wanting him to go

"Bryson don't go" He shook his head

"No its ok' He said looking down at Gabriel who was still playing with his hands" He just needs time, maybe you were right" He said about to head to the door. When all of a sudden we here Gabriel cry

"Daddy!" Gabe said running towards the door. Bryson caught him just in time" Don't go" He cried. Bryson held him tight shedding his own tears and before I knew it I was crying too.

"I'm not going anywhere, lil man. I promise" Bryson said kissing his head

"Look mama, Jesus answered my prayer!" He said happily as he looked at his father in amazement. After everything settled down Gabriel was getting sleeping and I don't blame him it’s been an emotional day. He was fighting it so hard though.

"Go to sleep lil man. I’ll be here when you wake up"

"You promise?" Gabe slurred his words he was so tired. Bryson stood up with him heading up stairs.

"I’m promise" When Bryson came back down he plopped down next to me with a huge sigh

"You ok" I asked. He nodded

“I’m just happy he knows" I nodded

"Me too"

“But" he said looking at me" There something we need to talk about"

"Like?"

" Like once winter break ends, what we’re going to do about our living arrangements"

“What do you mean"

"I live in California Asia, and I’ll be damned if I missed out on anymore of his life"

"So what you expect me to do, move out there?'

'Yes"

"Bryson my whole family’s here, my whole life here, my supports system to help me with Gabe. I can’t just leave all that behind"

'Yes you can because what he needs is his father. He needs me more than your parent and more than your brothers" I just shook my head" Remember that car garage I was working at before I moved?" I nodded" Well the owner told me he had a garage in Cali and wanted me to take over for him. A year went by and he sold it to me. My mom worked with me and we opened another one now there are two businesses under my name that are doing extremely well. I have my own place and making more than enough to take care of the both of you. Now give me one good reason that you think you have, that you can’t move in with me?" After hearing all that I really didn't have one but there was one thing that was bothering me.

" I’m proud of you. I really am but, I can’t live with somebody that still hates me and hasn’t forgiven me for what I did. He sighed.

“I told you I didn’t hate you."

“You could have fooled me"

"Yes I'm still bitter towards you but can you blame me? It’s going to take me awhile to forgive you but that doesn't change want I want, and that’s for the two people I love to be in my life permanently.
