Third Person POV (Again)
About forty minutes after they set off, everyone was talking amongst themselves, except for Allena. Noticing that she was alone, one of the men went over to her.
"Hey kid. What's wrong?" He asked her. She looked up at him.
"Oh... Nothing. I'm just a bit tired. And I don't really talk much sometimes..." Allena replied.
"Fair enough." The man shrugged. The two of them walked in silence for a few moments, when Allena asked the man a question.
"Are you really taking us to see Kyle's dad?" She asked. She immediately regretted it.
'Why would you ask THAT?!' She thought frustrated with herself. But to her surprise, the man just laughed.
"Oh... You kids are just so innocent and gullible, aren't you..." He sighed.
"Huh?" Allena asked confused.
"No, kid, we aren't taking you to your friends dad." The man told her sternly.
"Then what are you doing to us then? And most importantly, why did you use Kyle as an excuse? You guys aren't going to hurt him, are you??" She cried. Allena couldn't even imagine what she would do if something bad happened to Kyle, even just the thought of it made her feel a bit sick...
"Keep your voice down. If anyone else hears what I'm about to tell you, We're both dead." The man commanded her. Allena didn't do anything.
"Okay. Seeing that you are really curious, and seem to be the only one so far that has realized that this whole thing is a little off, I'll tell you what is going on. This little 'trip' is just a small step to one huge plan. My partner and I are part of a group from the military and government that has their own ideas for this country, and quite possibly the rest of the world, if we can manage that last part. This group has wanted the rules to change or a long, long time, but we have never gotten any attention. Now that there is a zombie apocalypse it is a perfect time to launch our plans into action." The man explained to Allena.
"So what you're saying is..."
"We're going to change the world, kid. Ad not in the whole peace around the world without any poverty or poor people kind of way, if that's what you're thinking. We'll start by getting rid of the rest of the panda people-like your friends, then go from there. And if anyone, anyone at all, get's in our way, they will be killed." He finished.
"Y-you're going t-t-to k-kill Fawn and Scarlett?" Allena asked horrified. the man nodded her head. Allena was going to run and tell Kyle. But just as she took a step forward, the man grabbed the back of her shirt and pulled her back harshly.
"I'm going to tell someone. You aren't getting away with this." Allena stated.
"No, you won't, and yes, we will take over the country. You will keep your little mouth shut."
"Why should I?" She asked. The man pulled out a pocket knife and pointed it at Allena's neck.
"That is why. You tell anyone, and you die. You let us do our thing, you live. The choice is yours." The man threatened. Then he put it away and walked off. During the walk, Fawn walked up to Kyle.
"Hey..." She began shyly. Kyle looked at her.
"Hey kid, what's up?" He asked concerned.
"I just wanted to say I completely agree with you on your choice of wanting to see your dad. It would be hard trying to persuade the whole group to go, but I know you made a good decision." Fawn stated kindly.
"Thanks Fawn, it means a lot." Kyle said appreciatively.
"So... What's your dad like?" Fawn asked curiously. Quietly, Kyle laughed at her curiosity.
"Well, he's really nice for a fact. I really do miss him a lot. He's my dad, of course. Even though he could get kind of protective over us, I still miss him." Kyle explained, thinking to when he was just a little kid. He was excited to see his dad again. It was quiet for about 5 seconds, until Fawn said something.
"Hey, kind of like you! Except your wayyyy protective! Now I know where you get it from!" She teased jokingly. Kyle gave her a joking glare.
"... Oh get over here..." He said before Fawn attempted to run away. Teasingly, Kyle grabbed her and lifted her over his shoulder.
"Hey! Put me down!" Fawn yelled, laughing.
"Make me!" Kyle joked. Before they had a chance to joke any longer, one of the men who were escorting them spoke up.
"Okay guys. We're going to be there in a few minutes. In fact... That's the building right there!" The man exclaimed, pointing at the military base.
"Is that the..." Fawn began, but was interrupted by Kyle.
"My dad works for the military, it's okay. If anyone remembers you and tries to hurt you or Scar, I will literally kill them. Got it?" He said putting his arm around Fawn.
"Thanks Kyle. That's really sweet!!!" Fawn exclaimed. Kyle smiled at her. A few moments later, they made it to the base.
"Okay,we're here. Now if you kids will kindly follow me, you'll be able to see your dad soon." The man explained, looking at Kyle. The group followed the man. Fawn and Scarlett were about to follow them but the second man grabbed them both harshly.
"What're you-" Scarlett began to ask.
"You're coming with us. No one can save you now." The man replied. Fawn and Scarlett looked at each other nervously, now realizing what was going on.
'Oh no....' Fawn thought afraid as the man lead her and Scarlett further and further away from the rest of the group.
Meanwhile, The other seven made it to a room which looked like an office.
"We'll bring him in shortly." The man stated as he shut the door. But, then he locked the door as well.
"Why did he just lock that?" Caden asked.
"I don't know..." Venus added. Everyone started to talk nervously except for Allena, Kyle and Mika. Mika was looking for Scarlett, Kyle still had some faith that everything would be fine, and Allena knew exactly what was going on.
"Hold it!!" Nani exclaimed. Everyone looked at her.
"What's the matter?" Tyler asked her.
"Fawn and Scarlett... They're gone. And the door's locked." She cried. Everyone started to talk again, And Allena was contemplating wether or not she should tell them.
"Tell them and lose your life, keep it to yourself and live. The choice is all yours... So many people will die because of me... And I can't do this to Fawn and Scarlett..." Allena whispered. Then she did what she had to do. Even though she was scared out of her mind to do it.
"THEY'RE LYING! OKAY!!! THEY. LIED." She yelled. Everyone stopped talking immediately and stared at her.
"What?" Venus asked.
"They lied. Kyle, they don't have your dad, he's not in this building... They took Fawn and Scarlett in another attempt to kill them. They're planning a whole lot of other stuff to. Not good stuff." She added. Then she started reciting what the man had told her to the group. A second or two after, a man opened the door with his partner beside him, while Allena was in mid-sentence.
"Allena.... Turn around." Nani said nervously. Slowly, Allena turned, and came face to face with the same man who told her everything.
"You said you wouldn't tell.' He stated, as if this was the most normal thing in the world. Allena stayed quiet.
"You know what the consequence was if you decided to tell, right?" He added. Allena slowly nodded her head.
"Say good bye to your friends." The man said before grabbing her and pushing her down to the ground.
"ALLENA!!!" Kyle yelled as he ran to her. But just as he did, the other man came and pushed him away.
"The rules are rules. You won't be seeing her ever again." He told Kyle, still trying to get him to keep still.
"LET HER GO!!! SHE'S MY SISTER!!! YOU'RE GOING TO HAVE TO KILL ME BEFORE YOU CAN EVEN CONSIDER HURTING HER!" Kyle yelled again as he struggled to get to Allena, who was now pushed up against the wall.
"Now you will see the error of your ways." The man holding her to the wall said devilishly as he pulled out a hand gun and pointed it at her forehead.
"NO!!!" Caden screamed. Allena's eyes filled with tears. She knew she practically asked for it, but she didn't want to die... She wanted to live.
"I'm going to count to three, then I'll pull the trigger. One...." The man said, taking the safety off the gun.
"No. Please! You can't!" Allena pleaded horrified.
"Two..." He said, completely ignoring her.
"LEAVE HER ALONE! SHE'S INNOCENT!!!" Kyle yelled. Suddenly, Caden ran to the opposite side of the room.
"Caden, WHAT are you doing?!" Venus asked him. Caden didn't reply. Instead, he took an old gun that was hanging on the wall and ran towards the man that had Allena.
"It won't work!" Tyler cried. But instead of firing it, Caden hit the man over the head as hard as he could. The man fell to the ground, only half conscious. Allena fell down as well.
"Caden! A little help?" Kyle yelled. Caden snuck over behind the man that had Kyle and hit the gun over his head, but not nearly as hard as before.
"Thanks a lot." Kyle said to Caden.
"No problem. But you should really check on Allena.... She looks like she's just about ready to faint." Caden replied worriedly.
"Oh no..." Kyle cried. Then he walked over to the other end of the room to where Allena was. Allena looked up at him, but didn't say anything.
"You okay kid?" He asked concerned. Allena looked down at the ground, still saying nothing.
"Is-is she okay?" Mika asked.
"I hope... She's probably just a bit shocked." Tyler shrugged.
"A BIT?!" Venus retorted.
"It's okay Allena, he's knocked out cold. He won't hurt you." Kyle told her, pointing at the man that tried to kill her. Then he helped her up and hugged her.
"I'm sorry... About everything..." Allena said, starting to cry.
"It's okay... Don't cry! You did the right thing. I'm just so glad you're okay..." Kyle replied. He let go of Allena a few moments later.
"Thanks for saving me, Caden." Allena said, giving him a small smile.
"No problem! But there was no way that I was gonna let that idiot shoot you, you know that, right?" He replied.
"Guys... Shouldn't we find Fawn and Scarlett?!" Nani asked nervously.
"Oh, crap!!! We HAVE TO GO!!!" Kyle yelled, angry at himself for not noticing his own girlfriend's absence.
"The door's open! Those guys must've forgotten to shut it after they came in here!" Mika added.
"How, HOW could I have forgotten about Fawn, even for a second... Oh, I hope they're okay.... I feel like such an IDIOT!" Kyle cried. So they all ran down the hall.
"Oh no... Where ARE they?" Allena asked nervously.
"I don't know..." Tyler replied. By now, the group had made it to the entrance of the building.
"Okay, I think we should split up, just so we don't risk anything else happening... If you know what I mean." Kyle stated.
"So some of us stay outside?" Nani added. Kyle nodded his head.
"I can do that." Caden shrugged.
"I'll stay with Mika if you want to go, Nani." Tyler added.
"Thanks Tyler." Nani replied smiling at him.
"I can stay too..." Allena said.
"Actually, I'd rather you stay with me, just in case those men in the other room figured out what happened and came outside, I won't be there. If you got hurt, I'd feel so awful." Kyle explained to her.
"Oh alright." She answered.
"Okay, so Me, Allena, Kyle and Nani are going?" Venus asked.
"Looks like it." Nani answered. So the four of them went back into the base to look for Fawn and Scarlett.
After about two minutes, they heard voices talking about what seemed to be Fawn and Scarlett.
"It was so easy! All we had to do was put a tracking device on that dog and we had them! We new their exact location!" One woman explained. Nani and Venus immediately recognized her as the woman who took their group to that recreational center a few weeks back.
"Well, we have them now. Let's do what we were meaning to do since the time they were born." The man beside her smirked.
"What are they talking about?" Allena asked, causing the woman to look at her surroundings suspiciously.
"Allena, we have to be quiet, okay? We can't get caught, not now." Nani whispered to her. Allena nodded her head, a little embarrassed. The four of them hid behind a corner until the two adults began to walk down the hallway again. Then the group followed along quietly, occasionally hiding behind walls or doors that led into empty rooms to avoid the adults from getting the feeling that they were being watched or followed. Finally, the two adults stopped at another door that was sealed shut.
"Wait a second... Once we get in there, how are we going to stop those two buffoons from killing Fawn and Scarlett?" Venus asked quietly.
"That's a good question..." Nani added.
"The gun..." Kyle whispered to himself. The other three looked at him.
"What?" Nani asked.
"The gun that Caden used to save Allena. If I ran back to that room and grabbed the gun and maybe a few other things, then we can use them to defend ourselves from those two." Kyle explained.
"What if you don't make it back in time? Or if you get caught?" Venus asked.
"Knowing how long those adults are taking, we shouldn't have to worry about me being too slow... But if I got caught... I dunno..." Kyle replied.
"One of us should go with you." Nani stated.
"I will." Allena stated. The others looked at her slightly startled, because she hadn't been talking for the whole conversation.
"No. I can't risk you... Not again. Not right after I almost lost you." Kyle told her.
"Kyle, if you get caught, all three of us, and Fawn and Scarlett could be killed as well. If you had someone to help you, it would be a lot easier." Allena explained.
"And we have to move fast, they're unlocking the door." Venus added nervously.
Kyle sighed.
"Fine. Allena, come with me, you two, stay put and we'll be back in about a minute." He commanded as he and Allena got up and ran.
Since the room wasn't that far from the entrance, Kyle remembered the way pretty well, and the two of them got to the room a few moments later.
"Where's the other guy? There was two." Allena whispered.
"He probably went to look for us. After I pushed him out of the way Caden walked over and knocked him out as well, just not as badly I guess." Kyle shrugged. Then they walked into the room, and Kyle grabbed the gun. Just as he was about to leave, he realized Allena was still in the room, grabbing the gun that was almost used to kill her.
"Why are you-?" Kyle began to ask.
"One weapon won't work. We should get another one. I promise that whoever uses it- wether it's me or Nani or Venus- won't kill anyone." She answered. He looked at her for a few seconds, then nodded and told her to follow him again.
"Oh thank God, you're back." Nani sighed when Kyle and Allena got back. The four of them wasted no time walking into the room. They stopped at the doorway so they could all establish a plans and take in the room.
"So, you two thought you could get away from us, huh?" The woman taunted.
"You'll never be able to kill us." Someone said shakily. It was Fawn. The man laughed.
"Oh, but you don't have your friends here to save you this time, we've already taken care of them." He replied.
"Think again." Venus muttered.
"You didn't kill them, did you?" Scarlett cried.
"Well, no. At least not yet." The woman said gleefully.
"That's it." Kyle said as he began to cross the room. The girls followed him. Once they were right behind the two adults, Kyle quickly raised the gun that Caden had and whacked the man over the head. The woman turned around frightened.
"It's you kids again!!" She yelled. She made a move to grab the gun that Kyle was holding, but he dodged her. Nani and Allena ran over to Fawn and Scarlett and saw that they were tied back to back on chairs.
"These people are incredibly stupid..." Nani sighed as she started untying Scarlett.
"How did you guys find us?" Fawn asked Allena.
"We followed those two after we got out of the room they put us in." She answered, pointing to the woman.
"Where's Tyler, Caden and Mika?" Scarlett asked.
"Outside. It was too hectic with all of us." Nani replied.
"It's always to hectic." Allena joked. By this point, Nani had just finished untying Scarlett and went to untie Fawn.
"There they are! Get them! And no matter what, kill those half-breeds!" They heard someone yell. Three other adults- two women and one man- had just entered the room. Kyle swore.
"GUYS! RUN!" He yelled as he ran towards the exit to fight the new comers off. Allena slid over to the other end of Fawn's chair to help Nani untie her.
"I remember you. You aren't supposed to be alive right now either." A voice said from right behind Allena. She turned around to face the man that had been holding Kyle back from her just a few minutes before. He was loading a gun. Before he could finish, Allena pulled out the gun she had took from the other room and fired. She hit the man in the stomach and he fell.
"Did you really just-?!" Nani cried.
"I'm afraid so!" Allena exclaimed. She looked horrified, but also proud. Fawn was then untied, and Nani, Scarlett, Allena and Fawn joined Kyle and Venus at the entrance.
"Did you two take those guys all by yourselves?!" Nani asked surprised.
"Yep." Venus answered, breathing rather heavily. Then they all ran out of the room, and didn't stop until they got outside.
"There you guys are!" Tyler exclaimed as he hugged Nani. Then Kyle walked over to Fawn.
"I never got a chance to ask... Are you and Scarlett okay?" He asked her concerned.
"Yeah, I'm alright. A bit shaken but I should be fine." She answered. Kyle looked at her for a few moments, then hugged her.
"I'm so sorry that you almost got killed again. I hate that this keeps happening over and over and over to you and Scarlett. You guys have already been through so much... And a girl like you doesn't deserve any of it. I swore to myself that I wouldn't let anyone even try to get you, and I failed. I feel like such an idiot..." He told her.
"It's okay. And it's not your fault. You didn't know that this was going to happen. And thanks for saying that I don't deserve any of this... It was really kind of you." Fawn replied.
"Well, somebody knew that this was going to happen." Allena muttered angrily. Fawn let go of Kyle and looked at her.
"What?" Scarlett asked confused. Allena explained what had happened on the way to the base to fawn and Scarlett, and apologized for being to scared to say anything before it was almost too late.
"Allena, that's not your fault. In fact, you were really brave for even saying anything! I would have freaked out if I was threatened like that..." Fawn exclaimed.
"Thanks Fawn." Allena replied smiling.
"Say... What happened after you told the others what you heated, anyway?" Scarlett asked. Allena bit her lip nervously, not wanting to recount the whole story again.
"If you don't want to say, I can if you want." Venus offered.
"No, it's fine. Well.... I was about mid sentence into telling the others what had happened, when the exact same guy that had told me this plan walked in. It turns out when he said he was going to kill me if I told, he meant it. But then Caden grabbed an old gun that was hanging on the wall, hit the man over the head and saved me." Allena explained, smiling at Caden.
"Yeah... Thanks again Caden. I have no idea what would've happened if you didn't save Allena. I would never be able to live with myself..." Kyle added.
"Anytime. And believe me, I wouldn't be able to live with myself either." He answered as he put his arm around Allena.
"That's sweet and all, and I hate to ruin this joyful moment, but in case we've all forgotten, we're standing in the front of a military base that have their minds SET on killing three of us here. So let's leave!" Tyler exclaimed. And then they all left and started the journey back to the cabin.
