CHAPTER 6

"Safe? Finally safe? Pssh. I call bullshit."

Today's been amazing. Awesome. Fantastic.

My powers decided to malfunction in the middle of a key battle. Because of that, i hurt myself fighting and this isn't even the end of the fight.

But you know what's even better?
I had to leave behind my siblings because what they're doing is wrong and side with the people who took me and I was taught to hate (even though they aren't even that bad but still)

It was like a backwards day for me. I was hit like a truck with remorse. I wanted my siblings but I couldn't have them.
I made up my mind.
I couldn't be with them till they realized they were in the wrong.

Eventually, all the avengers came back to the ship. Finally, Jesus.
But, it was odd. They were acting weird.
Most of them looked jostled, fear in their eyes even after the effects of Wanda had worn off.
The ship was quiet- too quiet. You could hear a pen drop.
(Pin drop? Pen drop? Dumb American phrases)

Clint took initiative and started to fly the jet.
To where?
It seems only Clint knows.

Tony, Clint and I were the only ones awake (or actively doing something). Stark had just finished up a call with the magnificent Maria Hill about how everyone is hating the Avengers and Banner for attacking the city
Blah blah blah.
Not my issue- not an avenger.... officially.

"Hey you wanna switch out?" Tony asked Clint.

"No, I'm good. If you wanna get some kip, now's a good time, cause we're still a few hours out."

From where? Where are we going? I know that we're 'running and hiding' but to where?

"A few hours from where?" Stark had no clue either, huh?

"A safe house."

A safe house... what does that mean?
Like... a house that's safe? I mean, that's the definition of one but like... does anyone else know where this is?
Tony's face after Clint told him where meant that he didn't know where we were going.

Great

~

Few hours pass and we land in a field of a farm.
A farm?
Never seen a farm like this...
It had an open field and a barn... you know, like in stories.

A nice house sat in the middle of the large field. Must be the 'safe house'

"What is this place?"

"I hear it's a-" I started to explain but was cut off but Stark:
"A safe house?"
He didn't sound confident but I knew it should be a safe house as explained earlier by bird-hawk-man.

"Let's hope."

Wait- let's hope?
This man isn't certain either?
Bitch! What the fuck.

Clint opened the door of the house, walking in with Natasha next to him. The rest of us followed behind him.
I was slightly on guard. My hands held my book so tight, my knuckles were white.
