CHAPTER 10

"Time to be serious! Oh wait, one more sly comment? No? Okay! Fight time!"

When I walked onto that aircraft, the intensity hit me like a brick.

This was real. Real life. Not fantasy.
And we were caught in a landslide.
Sorry... I'll stop.
I have to get serious now.

We were really about to save the world from a demented robot. People could die. One of us could die.
But we have to do it for the sake of humanity so everyone else could live.

Wanda released my hand as we got on the ship to put her own earpiece on. Pietro held mine so I ended up just standing by him as we both put them in.

"Ultron knows we're coming. Odds are we'll be riding into heavy fire, and that's what we signed up for. But the people of Sokovia, they didn't. So our priority is getting them out."

Sokovia...
My home.
My people.
We have to protect them.

Steve continued on, "All they want is to live their lives in peace, and that's not going to happen today. But we can do our best to protect them. And we can get the job done, and find out what Ultron's been building. We find Romanoff, and we clear the field. Keep the fight between us. Ultron thinks we're monsters and we're what's wrong with the world. This isn't just about beating him. It's about whether he's right."

"That was a nice speech, Cap. Hit me right here." I pointed to my heart. Pietro snickered quietly but we both got the gist of 'be quiet, this is serious'
and it was a serious moment but I felt the need to complement his speech.
I still have to be me despite the moment being intense.

So all serious.. starting now!

Arriving in Sokovia, it was still dark outside. The sun was just only starting to rise.
It was time to get down to business. It was time to get everyone out and fight if needed.

I held my book tight as I walked down with Wanda. Pietro skidded down, using the ramp.
Steve went to put on his helmet but saw some graffiti art work of him on the wall, mocking him for the helmet. He sighed, throwing the helmet back in.
It was kinda funny but I'm not going to say anything. It's serious time!

"The bridge is the main route out." Wanda explained.

"We can cover the others." Pietro added.

"Wake everyone up." Steve commanded.

"Pietro," I turned to him, "go to the station. Tell them to help."

He nodded and sped away within seconds.

I followed Wanda in helping her wake everyone up to get out. One of these powers would do the trick.

People slowly filtered from their homes as we lead them toward  the bridge with Clint following behind us to help usher everyone out. I knew some people. Others I hadn't seen in years. Nonetheless of who they are, they all had to get out. We couldn't just let these people die- they're all innocent.
