Deadpool turned away, and sighed deeply.

"Quite the ugly mug you got," you commented.

Startled, Deadpool noticed you for the first time. You were sitting on a log not too far away from him.

"But it's not too bad," you said and gave him a reassuring smile. You patted the space on the log next to you.

"Come sit."

Deadpool came over and sat down. You two watched the water for a bit before you decided to break the silence.

"That whole fiasco was pretty impressive. You saved that girl. You must be a hero. What's your name?"

His chest swelled with pride at being called a hero. "Deadpool." You shook hands and continued to stare at the water.

Deadpool looked at the mask in his hands and sighed quietly. He started to put it on. You, watching the whole thing, were pretty sad that this hero was ashamed of his face. Before the mask could hide his nose, you softly gripped his hands and he stopped.

"You don't need to hide your face." You turned toward him and put your hands on either side of his face.

"You have no reason to be afraid of who you are." You rubbed his disfigured cheeks with your thumbs and smiled.

You pulled away and unknowingly to you, he smiled at you. Another silence commenced. You watched the water, and he watched you.

You were unlike any other person he has ever met. Even though he's only known you for a little while, he felt like you were special. And with the time he's spent with you, he hasn't said one snarky or rude thing.

While the two of you talked, he was trying his best to get your phone number and address out of you.

"So where do you reside?"

"What number do you call with?"

"Do you live by the ocean?"

"Are you a 555 number?"

"Do you live around here?"

You answered all of his questions shortly, causing him to frown every time.

"In an place."

"My number."

"Do you?"

"No."

"No, I live in Alaska."

(Ok, that last one was sarcasm.)

Every time he asked you questions like that, your answers were short and quick. You knew what he was trying to do.

The talking decreased.

As soon as the sun started to rise again, you knew it was time to leave your new friend.

Standing up, you brushed off your sore butt and held out a hand for Deadpool to get up. He took your over and was surprised to find that you could pull him up with no hesitation. And this really surprised him because you were just this random girl and he was 200 pounds of hunk and muscle.

You grinned at him, almost like you knew what he was thinking...

"So, where you headed?"

Deadpool looked around.

"The nearest job, or home I guess."

You put your hands together like you were praying. 🙏🏼

"What are you doing?"

"I'm going to grant you your wish!"

With raised eyebrows, he opened his mouth to say something.

The water started to rise, and the land seemed to be spinning. Deadpool gripped your arms with a confused and frightened look.

"Log lady, I didn't know you were a mutant!"

The room stopped spinning and the sound of screaming and laughing was unbearable.

"I'm not a mutant. I just grant wishes." You winked. You motioned around the room.

"Your next job."

"An amusement park?" He let go of your arms and spin around.

"Yes, go have some fun."

You pushed him a little.

"Your job is to have fun," you said seriously. He grinned before tugging you with him.

"Well then you're coming with me."
