I awoke to the sound of the ceiling fan cutting through the air. Immediately lifting myself feeling the empty side of the bed where Kasey had been. The sun was still peaking over the clouds which was a wonderful thing. The sun wasn't gone, and Jamie wouldn't worry. I lifted the covers from my bare legs, noticing that my shorts were back on. A sinking feeling filled me as I brushed my fingers across the many marks he had left near my area. There were so many of them, I couldn't help but think of how great it felt as he placed each individual love bite. The floor creaked as Kasey neared the rooms doorway. I felt a sense of embarrassment for a reason that only made sense to myself. Each time I heard him take a step closer, my heart sank more. I wanted to pretend sleep, but it was too late. Kasey paused at the doorway, his mouth slightly agape as if he was lost for words. In one hand he held white quilts tightly. Nothing was said as we both stared at one another in amazement. "...hey," he broke the silence cracking a small grin, his face flushing with a red tint causing me to giggle. "Hey Kasey." I brushed little strings of stray hair out of my face. There was a brief pause before he spoke again, "So...I have to change the sheets," He said uncomfortably pointing in the direction of the bed, "I was just waiting for you to get up." he smiled slightly. "change the sheets?, but why?" I questioned before lifting myself from the messy sheets, He only rubbed his forehead. "um, I honestly don't know," he chuckled, "I just remember Kareem saying something about changing it afterwards..." he looked directly at me as he pursed his lips. Kasey then made his way to the bed ripping the covers away. "you want me to help?" i asked for him to only shake his head. "I can do it, but I left some food out just in case you want to eat something." he said distantly, I could hear his voice drifting off. "um...you okay?" I asked him, he looked at me "no, I'm straight." he then continued changing the sheets without even looking at me. I knew for a fact that he wasn't telling me the truth, but I didn't want to weigh him down with questions just yet. "okay." I began out the door before he spoke, "I promise I'll tell you later, but right now is too soon. " what? Even though I had so many questions myself, I only nodded my head, and left the room.
The television cast a light on the wall in the dark living room. I've been here countless of times, and each time I find something new. In the family pictures, the once unknown little boy was Kasey. He looked very similar to his little self only now he had much stronger features. On the counter there were two fudge cakes, I found its way to funny that he called this food.
I walked near the television viewing the many pictures that were hung on the walls. Kasey was in most of those photos, and I couldn't believe I never thought to ask who he was. Looking at his innocent little face in the photos, it's hard to believe how experienced he was at being intimate , or to think I was so inexperienced that he had walked me through it perfectly, making sure our bodies moved in unison with perfect body language. He made me feel wonderful leaving his kisses down to my naval. The husky grunts he made nearly drove me insane. He made my nervousness vanish almost instantly. I've never felt so much euphoria at one time. I gave Kasey my innocence. "Kasey, are you hungry? I brought some—Charls?" My head snapped toward the front door once I heard it slam shut as Kareem stood in the doorway with a look of confusion plastered across his face. I left my deep thinking as my heart nearly sank to my feet. What could I say? I glanced out of the corner of my eye watching Kasey as he stepped from the room. He looked at me with concern mouthing "what?" I shook my head as my attention turned back to the impatient man standing near the door. "so...what the fucks happening?" he smirked biting his bottom lip in an angered fashion crossing his arms in the process. Kasey furrowed his eyebrows standing near me, "What exactly do you mean? " He spoke with little no no fear in his voice. Kareem looked at the both of us before storming to the back, Kasey followed behind quickly. My heart was beating at an alarming rate.I hurried behind the two as the tension filled the entire house. Kareem burst into the bedroom near his own, heading straight to the bathroom. The disapproving look Kasey threw at Kareem was concerning.
Kareem stormed from the bathroom with the trashcan in his hand. "Kasey what the fuck is this man!?" Kareem yelled with a disappointed glare on his face. Kasey glanced down into the trashcan. He ultimately looked defeated. "...A fucking condom! you really tryna hide this shit from me Kasey?," he then laughed coldly, and sarcastically. "I've been doing this shit for years! you can't hide from me." he glanced over at me with a hurt expression. "seriously Charlie? you gave him your virgin-" Kasey interrupted him before I could even speak, everything had escalated so quickly. "What does any of this have to do with you Kareem?! you have a fucking child on the way!," his voice extended throughout the entire room. "I mean what did you expect? Her brothers locked up, and you run off with Johnna everyday like I want to be alone!," Kareem clenched his fist, I attempted grab Kasey, but he had brushed me off of him. "...kasey, we can go for a walk." I whispered lightly for him to look down at me and shake his head. "No, not right now...if he want to swing I'm gon' let him!," his voice began to crack, and tremble. "Kareem, I came to spend time with you! but you've been brushing me off cousin!" he lifted his arm to wipe his face. Kareem's eyes burned a whole in me with a stare, as if he didn't care about the words Kasey was saying. "you're that easy huh?" he spoke coldly as my head snapped his way. "you'll just give it to anyone?" my blood was boiling at this point, I didn't want to believe I was actually hearing this. "What the hell is your problem Kareem?" I yelled with everything in me, "you're upset because I wouldn't fuck you? is that what it is?" he looked at me with the slyest grin on his face. "...get the fuck out of my house Charlie." he whispered loud enough for me to hear him. I glanced up at Kasey who was in deep thought before stepping away from the scene grabbing my shoes from near the bed. As I left they didn't speak, I could Kareem saying "sorry" multiple times, but everything was unclear from the anger I felt. Kasey didn't say goodbye as I left the house.
The air was cool from the sun being completely down. Right now all I wanted was for Sev to be home. All of the freedom I have while he was gone was getting me into trouble.
As I entered my house I could hear light snoring from Jamie who was asleep on the sofa, her hand lie on her developing stomach. She probably didn't care what time I had got back home. The house was cold like always, almost cold enough so when you took a breath steam would come out of your mouth. The heater was broken, and without Severy, we couldn't do anything about it. I took a quilt from the hallway closet, and placed it across her body. Haven't been home all day, and if it wasn't my choice I wouldn't be here at all. My room was soundless, and cold. I sighed as if it was going to solve my current situation. As I sat on the edge of my bed, I slid my feet from my shoes and fell backward. After a while I became drowsy, and I could feel myself falling asleep until there was a thud at my window that caused an echo to bounce off of my walls. I stood to my feet using my strength to make it to the window. Kasey stood at the bottom with his hands tucked into the hoodie he was wearing. I mentally sighed fearing that he came with a lecture, but I wouldn't know. I pushed my window open, and instantly we made eye contact. Everytime we meet, my heart stops for a half of a second. Neither of us said a word to each other until he broke the silence. "...are you gonna let me in through the front, or are you gonna make my climb?" he smiled at me which trigger a light smile. "how's everything?" i sighed trying to change the subject, "I'll tell you when you let me in." he chuckled. I mentally rolled my eyes while motioning him to head to the front. He ran like a bolt of lightening, and it didn't take long before I heard the knock at the front door. I had to hurry myself so that he wouldn't wake Jamie up with his loud knocking. Once I made it to the door he was there with a corky smile on his face. "Everything's fine," he started stepping into my house. He led himself to my room without permission, but before I could stop him he was already there. I closed the door behind me as I entered the room. Once again we were alone. "You left so fast," He said not looking me in the face. "I couldn't say bye, you were gone so I did some stalker shit, and followed you home." he began to laugh as a cover up for his feelings. "...so how'd it end?" I looked up at his facial expression while he pursed, and parted his lips. "um... he didn't physically hit me, but the words he spoke tugged at my heart string a bit," he sighed "I don't know what's up with him, but it doesn't matter." He looked down at me. I placed my hand on his shoulder, "Kasey—you can leave me alone if that's what he wants, my job isn't to tear families apart-" he interrupted me placing his palms on my shoulders, "I can't leave you alone Charls! We're in too deep now," he raised his voice, and quickly lowered it rubbing his hands down his face, "I didn't expect my break to be anything like this," he said looking down "but everything happens for a reason, and I wouldn't change a thing, how could I just stop what we have for his opinion of you?" I looked into his eyes that were locked on my own, how serious he was was heart warming, but these weren't my intentions, to somehow fall in love over a course of three weeks. "Charlie, you were my first, and I know to some sex doesn't mean anything, but I will cherish that moment forever." I looked back into his eyes as they shimmered. He was serious. I only nodded my head walking near my bed. As I sat I pat the bed near my side, "if you don't feel comfortable going home, you're always welcome to stay." I pulled the covers away from the head of the bed, slipping myself into them.
It didn't take long for him climb in right beside me. "I won't touch you at all." he whispered to me, right before I shut my eyes. "...you can hold me." I whispered back, and that's exactly what he did. In short time he had fallen asleep. His face was so content, and peaceful as he slept that I couldn't help but stare hoping for better in the morning.
