Author's Note: This chapter WILL include lyrics that I have written, so please, please, please do not steal them! I think this is also the longest chapter I have written for this story. Sorry for the delay, but I hope you enjoy it!

Calum woke up the next morning to a series of text messages, all from Michael.

So, I talked to the guy who's helping me record my music and told him you were a singer-songwriter.

Do you, by any chance, have any recordings of your music that you could email to me real quick?

He said he wants to hear your music and if he likes it, then you might just have yourself a record deal.

Calum blinked and had to take a second look when he read that message. Never in a million years would he think he would be getting a record deal. Just the thought of that situation made him start shaking and feel like his heart was going to beat out of his chest - both in a good and a bad way. Of course he was excited. This was a once in a lifetime opportunity and was something he had wanted for years and knew he just couldn't let slip away. At the same time, he was nervous for this opportunity, scared out of his mind.

If he likes it, then you might just have yourself a record deal.

If he likes it.

If.

What if he didn't like it?

This is one of the biggest opportunities in Calum's life and he couldn't screw it up. If he did, he would lose what might be his only chance at actually having a career in music.

Calum sighed, replying to Michael's message.

Yeah, I'm sure I have a couple recordings on my laptop somewhere. I could email them to you if you'd like and then you could show them to the man who's helping you.

He put his phone away and searched for his laptop. It had to be in his luggage somewhere.

"Finally," Calum mumbled in relief when he eventually found it.

He looked through all his files until he finally found the recordings he was looking for, sending them all to Michael without even thinking it through.

His phone rang, showing another text from Michael.

Sounds like a plan! Also, the guy wants to see if you can stop by the recording studio today. He wants to talk to you about the demos right after he gets the chance to listen to them, which is today because he has most of the day off.

Okay then. I just sent you the demos a minute ago. I'm not sure if I can make it to the studio, it depends on the time.

Can you get here around noon?

Calum looked at the clock on his nightstand.

10:30 A.M.

I guess I could.

Great! I'll pick you up in about a half hour and take you to the studio.

Calum put away his phone and grabbed his guitar, still trying to process the fact that he was going into a studio for the first time in his life. It just seemed unreal to him. He was getting the chance to do something he never thought was possible for him but was something he had wanted to do for years.

Was he even ready for something like this?

It was too late now. He just had to hope everything would go well.
