Sylt's POV
I stare at Ashley, hard.
I look at her blue eyes and reach inside. Power builds in my throat and I speak.
"You don't know what you're talking about."
She frowns, her eyes smoldering. "I think I know."
What?
I stare harder, until I feel my eyes burning.
More power lodges itself in my voice box.
"You don't know what you're talking about."
She clenches her fists. "I said I do."
What the Hell is going on?!
She steps back and glares at me.
"Ashley-"
Her foot whizzes by me, connecting with my shin.
I grit my teeth. Pathetic human. You think that hurt? Hilarious.
I feel energy bubbling under the surface of my skin.
"My name is Ash. And stay away from my friend."
She walks away swiftly, her blue hair swinging like a pendulum.
What? 'Stay away from my friend'? What?
I glare at her retreating figure and follow the rest of the class back to the locker room.
They move sluggishly, complaining about how tired they are all of a sudden.
I smile slightly and draw some more power.
New energy bursts inside my veins.
Halley walks by me, looping her arm with Ashley's.
Ashley smiles and they walk together.
Her friend. Her friend...... Halley? Are you serious? She thinks I'm into Halley?
I laugh.
Ashley glances at me then says something to Halley. She nods then walks over to me.
"Is there an issue?"
I raise an eyebrow. "Excuse me?"
"You're excused. Maybe I should elaborate on what I said earlier. Leave Halley alone."
I stare at her. "What?"
"What?" She mimics, making a face.
"I don't know what you're talking about."
She growls and steps forward, grabbing hold of my shirt and pinning me to the wall.
Some classmates spot us then quickly glance away as Ashley glares at them.
She turns back to me. "Don't think you can take advantage of Halley. I saw that hug back there."
Take advantage? Back there? What?
"She hugged me!"
She rolls her eyes. "Yeah, yeah. That's what every pretty boy says."
Pretty boy?
"What? Ashley-"
She growls and kicks me. "I said my name's not Ashley!"
She glares at me one more time and starts to walk away. "Stay away from Halley."
I nod slowly, trying not to roll my eyes. These humans. So weird.
I sigh then go change.
