It was your first day of 5th grade and you were terrified. Moving to a new school isn't what it's like in movies at all.
You reach your first class and head inside to find a seat in the back row. Other students start to come in as the second bell rings.
Mr. King is your homeroom teacher's name. You notice his name as you came in and the tag on his desk. Soon the class is almost filled, only an empty seat and few others in the 2 rows up front are left.
Mr. King enters with a smile to your class, "Good morning! First day of school, fun!" He tries to lighten the mood, noticing some of your classmates lack of emotion of their faces.
The final bell rings just as a boy rushes in, panting and out of breath. "Sorry I'm late Mr....King. My mom and I got stuck in traffic on the way here"
Mr. King gives the boy a sympathetic look and nods, letting him enter and taking a seat. "I'm letting you off with a warning Mendes, don't do it again"
The boy searches for a seat, only to find one right next to you. He hurries to the seat and places his backpack on the floor next to his desk. He gives you a sly smile as he gets comfortable.
"Hey, I'm Shawn Mendes" He nods his head and extends a hand. You get a better look at the boy and blush a bit.
You think he is pretty attractive besides the sweat forming on his forehead, making his hair stick and his crooked smile. His eyes tie in his facial features.
You give him a greeting smile and extend your hand to shake Shawn's. "My name is Y/N, nice to meet you too". The introduction was short as Mr.King began to talk to your class.
Thinking about your school now, you know it's going to be a good one.
