More Than This

You lie back down on the soft bed, pulling the duvet over your naked body. Shawn lays next to you, panting and sweating just as much as you are. You feel his gaze on you but you just stare at his plain old beige ceiling.

"How was that" He asks

You turn to your side, your hand on your head as you rest against your elbow. "It was amazing, as always" Shawn smirks and begins to get up from his side of the bed. He grabs his boxers you threw to the side when you two began your intimate scene of the night.

"I'm just going to shower. You can head out soon. I'll text you tomorrow night" He smiles as he leans against his door frame.

This is a routine you both put together when he returned from his last tour. You would go to his house for a fun night and return home that same night to do it all over again the next day. You grew up with Shawn your whole life. He wasn't the type to settle down or be in a serious relationship. He was the type to have a one night stand and be over it the next day.

You. You are the opposite. You want a serious, loving and loyal relationship. You only agreed to this kind of arrangement with Shawn because you like him. You two were close throughout your schooling years and this kind of opportunity is a once in an every blue moon kind of chance. Shawn felt like it was a great idea to sleep with only you for awhile before he leaves again. He doesn't want to deal with 'awkward conversation' or 'having to find a different girl' whenever he's in a mood. You were just one call away and Shawn thought that'd be much handier.

You've always wanted more with Shawn. The way he acts around you when you two are just hanging out. He was your best friend.

You begin to get dressed. Shawn's shirts are always one of your favourite pieces of clothing of his, so you wear one home whenever you have the chance. Shawn soon comes in with a towel wrapped around his waist just as you were pulling on your leggings. Droplets of water fall upon Shawn's forehead from his wet hair, streaking down onto his chest and then his lower abdomen.

He is a very attractive guy and you still feel like a high schooler, fangirling over his amazing body that was just above your minutes ago. Shawn drops his towel just like that, right in front of you. As if you haven't seen him naked before. He pulls on a shirt and looks up at you with a smirk.

"Done checking me out Y/N?" He grabs a pair of grey sweats next.

You blink and look at Shawn with a shy smirk "I'm still not use to seeing you this good, Shawn"

He chuckles and approaches me, pulling me in by the waist. "You think I look good babe?" He teases

You blush and look away. He grabs your chin with his fingers, making you look up at him. He studies your face for a bit and you blush even harder, suddenly feeling insecure. "You're so beautiful" He leans in and kisses you passionately. You kiss back and he moans into the kiss.

He pulls you closer, his hands roaming lower and onto your bum. You pull away before anything else gets more intense. Shawn has a sad look on his face but kisses you one last time before letting go. This. This is exactly why he confuses you.

He gives you sweet compliments, kisses you passionately; like he means it and he let's you stay for a bit. With other girls, he would've thrown them out by now. You grab your bag before anymore bad thoughts come flooding in but Shawn stops you. "Stay" He whispers

"What?"

You look up at him. Regret and guilt all over his face. "Stay. Please" He begs

You scrunch your eyebrows in confusion. He's never asked you to stay before. The last time you stayed over at his house was when you were kids and it was a sleepover. "I-I can't" You pull away from his comforting embrace.

Shawn lets go of your arm. Disappointment clear on his face and all you want to do is kiss him and make him happy again.

You turn away from Shawn to grab your bag and other belongings and this time he doesn't stop you. He watches you leave, not moving a step. You look at him one more time. His brown eyes look at you with sadness and a bit of hope.

"I wanted more than this" You announce, exiting the room and heading out to go back home.

A tear escapes but you feel more and more powerful with every step. You never spoke to Shawn after that night.
