11. "I'll call out a name, your name; Just as you once called out mine."

---

Dazai does not come back, and after I wait for an hour, I give up on waiting for him.

Instead, I decided to clean up the room a little. There is bandage everywhere.

Alrighty, time to clean up!

I am only able to pick out a brush from the cabinet when there is a knock on the door.

"Dazai?"

I run up to the door and open it as fast as I can. I subconsciously let out a long sigh, when it is only Ranpo, standing at the door.

"You don't look very happy to see me, Kira. Were you expecting another male company?" The attractive raven-head wants to know, and takes a step inside.

He's the only one who straight out calls me Kira without any suffixes, huh? Is it an age thing?

"S-Shut up. You have your Ultra-deduction, you can find that out on your own, right?"

Ranpo shrugs and takes a seat on the counter. "That just goes on to prove your lack of trust in me."

When I go to stand in front of him, he pats my head three times.

"Tell me when you start to trust me, okay?" He smiles, opening his eyes and flashing his emerald green eyes.

Holy crap, that's attractive.

"Yeeeeeeeah." I say. I sweat nervously and think of a way to change the subject. "So, why are you here?"

"Oh I almost forgot! Will you come with me to buy candy?"

I raise an eyebrow. "Please enlighten me as to why I should go with a 26 year old man to buy candy to a store which is literally a block away."

"I don't know the directions." He says in a small voice.

Oh, Atsushi did mention something like that yesterday...

Some geniuses have it so hard, and for the first time, I am thankful for my barely-above-100 IQ level.

"Well then, get your lazy ass up and let's go."

"You're such a tsundere, Kira." The green-eyed man mutters under his breath. I choose to ignore the lad and we walk out of the building. Ranpo takes five minutes to fill up a small bag with all types of candy, and makes his purchase.

"I heard about your ability, and that's kinda cool." I let him know. Atsushi had informed me that Ranpo believes in having an ability, even though he actually doesn't. Atsushi had also mentioned that I should keep this to myself and not tell Ranpo.

"Well of course!" He then pats my shoulder and gives a wide smile.

"You still have at least a hundred more years to even come close to the level I am in, Kira."

How on earth is the oldest person in the Agency also the most childish person in it? I would never figure out what is wrong with this place.

"Yes of course. Ranpo-san is the best in the whole city, no wait. The whole world. Maybe even the whole galaxy."

Ranpo beams and picks up a lollipop from his candy trash. He then hands it to me.

"You're such a good girl!" He says, and opens his eyes. I am almost knocked over by the hue of his eyes.

"But you know, I think you will reach my level the first, before the others." He ruffles my hair and dashes back into the building.

Gosh, Ranpo, you are being way too adorable. You're going to make me want to spoil you even more.

Sighing, I am about to climb the stairs when a pair of hands cover my mouth.

"EHHHH?" My moans are muffled, and a voice hisses for me to be quiet.

"Sorry, did I scare you?"

The person lets go of me, and I turn around to see that it is Dazai.

Are you kidding me?

"What do you want?" I am still a little pissed because he does not believe me about Akutagawa.

But then again, if he did believe me, he wouldn't let me go meet him, and that's kinda... No.

"Come on, I'm taking you for ice cream, but before that, we're going to the riverbank. I came back, because the place kinda feels lonely ever since I met you." He gives a dorky smile, and grabs my hand.

What is that supposed to mean? I wonder, while I let him drag me outside again.

Seriously, I let him do whatever he likes way too much.

We walk for around twenty minutes before Dazai stops in his tracks. And that is when I realize that the riverbank he meant was the same place where I met him and Atsushi.

Dazai helps me up the railing, and we sit, swinging our legs.

"I can't believe it's only been two days since we were here."

"It feels like two years though. It's like I can't imagine you not being around anymore." Dazai replies, while he looks up at the sky which was filled with white clouds. I glance at the 22 year old idiot who had a big smile plastered on his face. Behind us, I can hear people walking, but that was probably the last thing on my mind right then.

"I feel the same, Dazai-san."

"Well, when we first met, you were going to commit suicide, right? What about now?"

I am stuck for an answer.

It was true that I still had it in mind. But it's at the back of my mind right now... Maybe like, one of the things I would do if I had no other choice.

Am I even making any sense?

"Kira-chan?"

"Let's head back home, Dazai." I say, standing up on the rail.

"If I ask you to commit a double suicide with me, would you say yes?" He wants to know, looking up at me.

"You and I will both find out the answer if you ever do, right?" I say. I hold both my hands out, and Dazai grabs it and I help him up. We then jump back to the bridge side.

Before leaving, I take one last look at the river. The river I had a jump in, with Dazai, just two days ago.

"Kira-chan?"

"Coming!" I jog up to catch up with the brown-haired male.

As he walks ahead, I watch the way his shoulders and legs move. In fact, I find myself smiling to myself.

Have I ever felt this way before?

Why won't my heart stop beating so fast? I don't want this to happen.

This shouldn't be happening.

This can't. It won't work out.

I slap my cheeks three times using both hands. Dazai seems to notice the noise, and turns around.

"You okay?" He asks.

"Yeah, perfectly okay!" I say, catching up to him.

Honestly speaking, I can't wait for tomorrow night so that I can meet Akutagawa already.
