Anakin Skywalker (Star Wars): What is Love?

  Love is a simple word, four letters, one syllable, and something that can only be felt by the heart. (Y/n) stared at the ceiling as she lay in bed. No, she was not a Jedi, she had no ability with the force what so ever, but she did have a heart. That heart yearned for a special someone. Someone who was in fact force sensitive. Who is this person? None other than Anakin Skywalker. But sadly having a relationship, for a Jedi, was strictly forbidden. (Y/n) sat up, when she heard a knock at her door.
"Who is it?"
"It's Anakin my lady, may I come in?"
"Yes"
(Y/n) was currently being guarded by none other than Anakin. She shifted in the bed uncomfortably as Anakin entered the room. She waited for him to speak.
"My lady-"
"Anakin, how many times do I have to tell you to call me (Y/n)?"
"Right, sorry, (Y/n) I was notified, not to let you out of the palace today. I'm sorry that it ruins our plans to go to the market today"
"It's fine, what am I to do then?"
"Well, you could spend the day with me. I mean if you want, I don't mean to make you uncomfortable-"
"Anakin, it's fine, what do you wan to do?"
Anakin swallowed thickly, before muttering something under his breath.
"What was that?"
"Nothing, just reminding myself of the Jedi code"
"Why do you need to be reminded of the code? You are a very accomplished Jedi are you not?"
"I am... Well... Um... I-I realized over the past few months that I have been protecting you, I have grown feelings for you, and as a Jedi, I cannot act on these feelings"
"Even if the person returns your feelings?"
"I'm afraid so- Wait you return my feelings?"
"Yes, I also have developed feelings for you"
"(Y/n) I'm sorry, I cannot act on these feeling. I will do my best to forget my feelings toward you, and I suggest you do the same"
Anakin stood to leave. He glanced over his shoulder, one last time before he left, to see (Y/n) sitting in the same position, staring at the chair he had been sitting on. He sighed and exited the room. Once he was outside the room, he felt an overwhelming amount of sadness. He looked back at the door, before walking down the halway. (Y/n) sat in her bed. To say she was upset was an understatement. The first time she had ever expressed her feelings toward someone, and she had been rejected. She would never be able to look at Anakin the same way ever again. The rest of the day she stayed in her room. Anakin never came back, even though he thought about it several times. He wanted to go back, apologies, and tell her that he didn't care what the order stated, and maybe they could be together, but he resisted the urge. Days went by, the two had barely spoken. The friendship they had created was now gone and an uncomfortable silence had filled the gap. (Y/n) did as much as she could to avoid Anakin. Every time she saw him, her heart clenched ans she had the strong urge to cry. (Y/n) was the first to "break the ice".
"Anakin?"
"Yes?"
"What is love? Do you know what it feels like?"
"Love is... I don't know how to explain this to you, but love is where you care enough about someone, that when you are apart from them, it hurts, but that person can also make your heart race, and make you feel things that you could never feel with another person"
"Is what I feel for you love?"
Anakin stared at her, he took a deep breath,
"I cannot tell you about your feelings for me, but if the past couple of weeks were as painful for you as they were for me, I would say that what we feel toward each other is love. I... I love you (Y/n), I have fallen for you, I cherish every second with you, and I don't know what to do when you aren't around"
"Anakin, what about the code?"
"I... I don't know yet, but I want to be with you, but I must follow the Jedi code"
"Oh..."
"We will find a way (Y/n)"
"Really? Are you sure?"
"Yes, I'm positive. Do you know why?"
"Why?"
"Because this is love"
