A.N.- Possible part 2 coming in the future... Maybe... Maybe not...

(Y/n) awoke with cold sweat running down her forehead. She gasped for air, trying to catch her breath. She looked to her side to see her boyfriend, Sam Winchester, sleeping soundly, with his arm wrapped protectively around her waist. She slowly tried to slip from his grasp, but only succeeded in waking up the hunter.
"What's wrong?"
"Nothing, I just have to go to the bathroom"
"Oh, okay, don't take too long"
"Why? Will you miss me?"
"You know I don't sleep well without you by my side"
Sam smiled at (Y/n) and slowly withdrew his arm. (Y/n) slid out of the bed, and made her way to the bathroom, closing the door behind her. She paced back and fourth thinking about the dream.

Sam had been distant, Dean had refused to tell (Y/n) what was wrong with him, until, after a supply run while on a case. (Y/n) and Dean had walked in on Sam with a local woman that he had met at a bar. Sam hadn't even tried to apologize. (Y/n) had left and years later, even after Sam had gotten his soul back, he never came looking for her. She lived out her life loving a man that would never be her's again.

(Y/n) knew that the dream wasn't real, and that Sam would always come for her. But it had felt so real that she couldn't help but wonder, could something like that have happened, but she didn't know? Realizing that she had been in the bathroom for a while, she flushed the toilet to seem convincing, and ran the sink. She exited the bathroom, and returned to her shared bed with Sam. The instant her body hit the bed, Sam's arm came to wrap around her. She rest her head on Sam's chest, and let his heartbeat lull her to sleep. The next morning, (Y/n) went about her usual routine, trying her best to forget about the dream. She stole glances at Sam every once and a while. Sam noticed her strange behavior, but waved it off. It wasn't until (Y/n) couldn't look him in the eye that he took action.
"(Y/n)?"
"Yes?"
"What's wrong? You've been staring at me all day, but when I look at you, you won't make eye contact with me"
"Nothing's wrong Sam"
"Look me in the eye and say that"
"I-I can't"
"That's what I thought, now what's wrong?"
"It's just... I had a dream last night"
"What kind of dream?"
"I guess it was a nightmare... But I don't want to talk about it Sam"
"Okay, but I'll be here if you change your mind"
"Thanks Sam"
Night after night, the dream kept returning. To (Y/n), it was like a sign. Maybe she should have asked about it. (Y/n) hadn't been around when Sam was soulless, Dean had asked that she wait for him to get his soul back, before resuming her relationship with Sam. After a week of having the dream, (Y/n) went to Dean,
"Hey Dean, do you have a minute?"
"Yeah, what's up?"
"Um... Well I've been having this dream, about Sam..."
"What kind of dream? Please don't tell me about it if it's a dirty dream!"
"It's not a dirty dream... I don't think..."
"Okay? Go on"
"Well it starts out right after Sam lost his soul, you and I went on a supply run, and when we came back Sam was with another girl. I know it didn't happen, since one I wasn't around when Sam was soulless, and two, we never went on a hunt in that town. But I've had this dream for a week straight, and... What if something like that did happen? What if I'm not good enough for him anymore?"
"(Y/n) I'm sure the dream means nothing, Sam would never cheat on you. Also, Sam loves you, don't doubt that"
"I'm just scared Dean, what if he realizes that I'm not what he wants?"
Dean just frowned, knowing he wouldn't be able to talk (Y/n) out of this one. He let (Y/n) ramble on, not realizing that Sam was just outside the door, listening to every word. He had been on his way to inform Dean that he had found a case, but to his surprise, he heard (Y/n)'s voice coming from behind Dean's door, and he couldn't help but listen. His heart broke, as he heard all of (Y/n)'s worries. He couldn't believe that she thought that he could cheat on her, or that he didn't love her anymore, and the worst part was that she was getting all of these doubts from a dream. Soon, he couldn't take another word, and burst into the room. He grabbed (Y/n)' wrist, and dragged her to their shared room.
"So you're telling Dean about the dream that you didn't want to tell me about?"
"I... Yes. How much did you hear?"
"Enough to know that you think that I could cheat on you, and that you don't think I love you anymore! How could you think that? I would never cheat on you, and I could never stop loving you!"
"I-I'm sorry Sam... It's just that I kept having that dream, every day for a whole week. I just thought it meant something"
"Do you still trust me?"
"Yes"
"Do you still love me?"
"I never stopped. Sam where are you going with this?"
"(Y/n) you have to find a way to get past the dream, if you want this relationship to work, I don't think I can date someone that believes that I would cheat on them"
"Sam I-"
"I'm going to tell Dean about this case. You need to make a decision."
