|Our Family|
_Tao walked through the front door of his home with a few grocery bags in hand. He carefully placed the bags on the floor as he slipping off his coat, toed his shoes off and placed them neatly on the rack.
He glanced around to see the house was empty.
He smiled as he picked up the bags and made his way to the kitchen to start dinner. He wasn't the best cook but he learned a few things from his mother.
Today was his and his fiancée's three year anniversary and he wanted to make a nice dinner since Kris had been working late hours.
Tao hummed to himself as he got out the ingredients for the meal he had picked out.
It wasn't much but just simple spaghetti.
He got a pot and filled it up with hot water. After placing it on the stove, carefully so the water didn't splash, he turned the fire on and waited for it to heat up.
Tao walked over and grabbed the noodles, placing them beside the pot on the counter.
He walked over to the fridge and pulled out some sausages to cut up and mix with the sauce once they're cooked.
As he was cooking the sausages he put half of the bag of noodles in the pot, letting them cook.
Everything was going well. The sausages were cooked perfectly and the noodles were just about done.
Tao checked everything one last time before rushing off to the dining room to set the table. He couldn't help but smile as he made sure everything was perfect.
Tao rushed off to the bedroom to change into comfy clothes, which was just one of Kris' shirts and a pair of sweats with a pair of comfy black socks.
Meanwhile, Kris had gotten off early today. Which he was thankful for since he got to go home and see Tao.
It didn't take long for him to arrive home. He parked his car in the lot before making his way into the building complex.
He took the elevator to the third floor and made his way to room 104. He smiled as he unlocked the door and walked in.
He froze when a weird smell had hit him. He sniffed the air and realized it smelt like something was burning.
"Tao, what are you up to?" He asked himself as he furrowed his eyes and made his way to the kitchen.
When he walked in his eyes widened and rushed to the stove, turning off the fire and moving the pan of burnt sausages to the sink.
He turned on the cold water to let the pan cool down. He rushed to the window and left it open, letting the bad air out.
He rushed to the pot of noodles and turned it off, slightly burning his finger from the boiling water that spilled out.
He let out a huff as he shook his right hand, trying to shake off the pain on his finger.
When he turned Tao had just walked into the kitchen looking shocked. He ran to the sink and and glanced over at the stove.
Tears pooled his eyes as he ran his hands through his hair.
"Everything is ruined.. I was just changing I didn't mean to take long I thought I turned everything off I-" Kris grabbed hold of Tao's hands.
"It's alright, don't worry. The food might not be edible but our day isn't ruined." He pecked Tao's cheek.
Tao turned and wrapped his arms around Kris neck. "I'm sorry, I almost caused a fire."
"It's alright, luckily I came home just in time before anything could happen." Kris wiped Tao's tears away with his thumb before pulling Tao into a sweet kiss.
Tao then smiled when they slowly pulled away.
"Go get dressed, we'll go out for dinner." Tao nodded, he leaned up and gave Kris a peck on the lips before walking back to the bed room.
Kris sighed with a smile as he shook his head.
No more cooking for Tao when Kris isn't there to help him.
