The next morning, the four were in the car on their way to the police station.

The two kids were kind of quiet, a bit scared of what's to happen. Tao glanced over at them and gave them a soft smile.

It didn't take long for them to arrive at the station. Once Kris had parked the car, the two helped the kids out.

Tao had Huan sitting on his hip while Chen held both Tao and Kris hands as they walked into the building.

Kris walked up to the same counter he had the other day and spoke to a women this time.

"How may I help you?" "I'm looking for officer Park." "Just a moment." She gave them a smile before walking off to the back room.

Minutes later, the lady returned with Officer Park behind her.

"Mr. Wu yes?" Kris nodded. "Hello officer Park, this is my fiancée Tao and the two kids Chen and Huan."

The man nodded, giving the two kids a small wave. "Hello there. My name is Officer Park, can I have your names please?"

Huan looked over at Chen who spoke first. "Lee Chen. This is my brother Lee Huan."

After a quick greeting, Officer Park turned to Kris. "If it's alright with you, can I speak to Huan first."

Huan looked up at the mention of his name. Tao looked over at Kris, "They want to speak to Huan first." Tao nodded as Kris took Huan from his hold.

"Huan, this man is going to ask you a few questions about your parents okay?" Huan shyly nodded. "Can Chen gege come with me?" Huan pouted, holding his hand out for his brother.

"No, they want just you in there." "There's nothing to be afraid of son, I just need to ask a few questions then you can come back to your brother."

Huan looks up at Tao. "I want Tao gege!" Tao's eyes widened as he watched the scene, having no idea what they were saying that was making Huan reach out for him.

Tao moved in to pick him up, Huan hugging Tao's neck. Tao looked over at Kris again for info.

"They said it's alright for you to go with Huan. He's a bit scared." Tao nodded and followed the officer to an empty room.

Tao sat down in the chair across from officer Park. Huan was staring at the officer as he talked.

Tao just stared at Huan with a small smile, brushing his hair back to sooth him.

Officer Park took only five minutes asking Huan questions. Huan was handed a red lollipop after, causing the boy to smile widely.

Once Tao and Huan walked out, Kris and Chen walked over to them. Kris giving a smile to Huan, kissing the top of his head saying he did a good job at not being shy.

"Now, Chen. Can you follow me? Mr. Wu, you're free to join us." Kris nodded.

He quickly told Tao he's going along with Chen before following officer park.

Once they were in the same room the other two came out of, the questioning began.

"Alright, I want to know a few things about your parents okay? But first, I want to know why you and your brother ran away?" Officer park asked after pressing the record button on the recorder.

Chen looked down at his lap, before speaking. "My parents were mean to me and my brother. They'd always yell at each other. Sometimes my dad would walk out and our mother would yell at me and my brother all night."

"Would she hit you?" Officer park asked.

Chen nodded. "Would she use objects or her hand?" "B-both."

Kris scooted his chair closer and placed his arm around the boy, rubbing his shoulder in comfort.

"Do you have any relatives in the city?" Chen only replied with a shrug of his shoulders.

Officer park nodded as he noted a few things. "Okay, do you go to school Chen?" Chen nodded. "I'm in second grade but my mom didn't always take me, she'd let me stay home."

Officer Park nodded. "How about Huan? Did he go to school with you or did he stay home with your mom?"

"He stayed home."

Asking a few more questions Officer Park needed to know, the three walked out of the room.

"Alright, I'm going to run the parents names through the base and try to contact them, see if there's any family near by. For now I think it's best if you keep the boys with you till we hear anything."

Kris nodded. "I'll give you a call soon and let you know. Thank you for your time."

"Thank you sir." Kris shook the officers hand before leading the three back out of the station and to the car.

Tao tugged on Kris hand, "What did they say?" "They're going to try and contact the parents and check if there are any close relatives the boys could stay at."

Tao nodded with a frown, realizing the two might be gone soon.

As they got into the car, Kris looked back at the two kids as Tao helped them get buckled up.

"Chen, Officer Park told me you had to return to school. He gave me the address so you'll be going back tomorrow okay?"

Chen nodded. Tao got into the passenger seat and buckled up. "We have to go school shopping for Chen, he's going back tomorrow."

Tao nodded. "Well let's go now."

Tao was all over the place. Picking out some school supplies for Chen.

Kris walked behind with Huan in his arms as Tao held Chen's hand and pointed to things he wanted to show Chen.

"Kris gege, will I be going to school too?" Kris glanced down at Huan before looking back at Tao, following him down the back to school aisle.

"Would you like to go to preschool?" Huan nodded his head with a smile. "Please gege!"

Kris chuckled. "I'll talk with Tao alright?" Huan nodded before watching Tao and Chen pick things out.

"Kris gege, we're done." Chen smiled up, pointing to the full basket that Tao was holding.

"Okay, let's go pay and get you ready for tomorrow." Chen nodded with a wide smile on his face.

Tao smiled as the four of them walked to the front to pay.
