Pretending

After spending the rest of the days to come with Max, I tried to convince myself that I couldn't here the voices anymore. But It was a pain, to do so. The more I fought each and every moment, the worse it became. It got to the point where it interrupted our conversations. Every time Max would try to speak to me, her words became a blur. My mind was so focused on all the other things around me, and I hated it. I hated not being able to think quietly for myself, and take on the thoughts of other people. I didn't have a mind of my own anymore, I was so...mindless. And it didn't stop. Now I remember why I was homeschooled.

"Hey, girl, are you even listening to what I'm saying?" Max's eyes turned into a frown, as she gave me one of her awkward faced expressions.

My head kept shaking as if to throw away the other things inside. I could feel myself getting annoyed; distracted. My eyes flinched every moment they could. "Uh- I'm sorry, what?"

Max sighed. " You know, you can just tell me if I'm boring you.--

"No! it's not that! It's just that, well..."

how can she stand to be around her, she smells like ass..

I bet you that hair color is fake.

She's such a smart ass--

I couldn't handle anymore of this stress. I needed to get away from everyone that was well, anyone.

"Max!"

The brunette inched her eyelids, as she fixated her fingers around her camera. "Yeah?"

Well that was a very drawn out 'yeah'

"Um, I was wondering if you can show me around the academy? You know, new girl first day. That kind of thing."

She smiled indicating that her worries had soon left her. "Sure, I would be more than glad to. Anything to get away from all this, high school drama bull shit." Max smirks. "let's go."

So I followed behind her. As we left the cafeteria, everything started to subside. The farther I was from the others, the safer my own thoughts could roam around freely. Thank goodness it only happens when things get intense. Otherwise my life would truly be a living...who's that?

"Hey Warren!" Max shouts out to a boy in the far distance.

That very moment my body froze. I've never been so captivated by someone like this before. Well, it could be because this is the first boy I've actually ever seen. Dialing down the over exaggeration, the first boy I had a chance for to actually focus on without any interference from hormonal outbreaks. But gosh, was he super attractive. He had cinnamon brown hair, dark brown eyes, and was a bit taller than me. He had somewhat of a build, but looked more nerdy like. I bet he couldn't harm a fly. A gentle faced person, and nothing like the other pigs here. He was perfect.

I start to stutter. "H-Hi, uh- um.. my- this- My hair is red!" Why do I feel like that was completely stupid.

"Yeah I noticed."the boy awkwardly smiles, then turns over to Max. "Max, who's your friend?"

"This is Juniper Carlisle. She's a transfer student, if you can even call her that."

"Hi, I'm homeschooled. And you are?"

Dammit!

"I think you meant to say your name. And..." Warren took out his arm, and wrapped it around my shoulder. "Don't be so uptight, I'm Warren Graham. So Jupiter, how was your first day?"

Max internally rolled her eyes. "Looks like that's the name your stuck with now, 'Jupiter'" she laughed at the ridiculous, and somewhat catchy, thing he said.

My cheeks were becoming hot and flushed. You know, I think I kind of liked that name. After all, the universe was my favorite thing. Stargazing through my telescope, naming constellations, all of that. I loved the galaxy more than anything. Oh, right, back to Warren.

"It was cute- good. I mean good!"

Max's attractive friend slides his arm back to his side, starting to make his exit. "Well, don't let me stop you. Nice meeting you Jupiter." he smiled at me for a good five minutes, then looked back at Max. "See you later Maximus Overdrive."

He's cute.

"Well, I see you have your first crush."

"Wh-what? He's not my cute- I don't crush hi- My, hair is..red.."

I watched as Max tried not to laugh, as she held her hand slightly above her lips. Little snickers pass through, totally breaking her composure.

A pit of anger grew inside of me. "He's not  homeschooled!" I stormed off angry not knowing where I was going. However, I did know the direction. (if that counts for something)

"I think you meant to say, 'my crush'!" she yelled. "Also, the dorm is this way!"

Alright, alright...as you could already tell, being homeschooled definitely had it's...downsides. Not being able to interact with anyone, especially if they are the opposite sex, was difficult for me. Let's just say, that I don't even understand my own brain at times. Social interactions? Not my thing.

A/N: Sorry for such a short chapter. it kinda sucked, but my brain was basically dead! xD inspiration dies off so quickly when you don't have the right words :( Comment for feed back if you like.
