"Wait, are they all intimidated by you?" Sebastian asked me. I had just told him about my introduction in school. He seemed quite intrigued in how my life was doing, but he hadn't said anything about himself. I swallowed a piece of chocolate doughnut and nodded. "It's funny, because once they know the real you, they will change their minds."
I laughed. It was true, if they found out that I wasn't that 'scary', they would all try to talk to me. Apparently, I could make friends easily, but I didn't want to have many. Sebastian, Sam, Jack, Vinnie, Robin and the 'Friendlies' were exceptions, of course. The setting sun shone down on both of our faces as we strolled down the town centre, people would stare at the way Sebastian was dressed, but neither of us cared. If anything, he was dressed amazingly; I loved ties, waistcoats and suits. I turned to Sebastian and poked his cheek.
"How has your life been?" I smiled, pulling a loose curl away from my eyes.
"It's been okay, I guess." He stroked his chin thoughtfully.
"Come on, DETAILS!" I begged, grabbing onto his arm playfully. He returned a smile and scratched his head.
"Well," He opened the doughnut box in my hand and picked one out before taking a small bite out of it. He swallowed and glanced at me, shrugging. "Not much has changed. For example, I still think strawberry doughnuts are better than chocolate." He smirked.
"Why did you get chocolate then?" I asked quietly.
"Because they were your favourite." He whispered.
In the distance, a big shining chocolate sign caught my attention; Choc-a-Lot. I began to run to the candy cane doors. Within twenty seconds, I was in the queue and waiting eagerly. Looking over my shoulder, I saw Sebastian hunched over and panting slightly from trying to catch up with me. I smiled and ruffled his black hair, which made his ears go red.
"Since when did you dye your hair black?" I question him, still messing it up.
"I prefer it like this." He answered, grabbing my hand playfully and throwing it off to the side. "People told me that brown and red didn't go together and that it looked ugly, and so I changed it." Standing straight up, he looked confused when he saw my angry expression.
"Why did you change it?! Brown hair and red eyes are the coolest thing ever! I loved your hair colour, it wasn't just a normal boring brown like mine, it was darker in some places and that was flippin' awesome!" I tugged him by the collar of his shirt and pulled his face closer. My eyes pierced into his crimson orbs. "When you get home, you are going to wash it out, aren't you?"
I heard him gulp as he nodded. Smirking, I let go of the collar and turned back to the queue. As I was trying to see to the front, I felt a hand land on my shoulder. I pivoted and saw Sebastian with the tickets in his hand. I grabbed them and ran to the front. Before the person at the till could order me to go back, I shoved the tickets proudly in her face shocked. She looked slightly annoyed, but I didn't really care.
"What will it be?" The green haired cashier asked through gritted teeth, forcing a smile.
My face was practically squashed against the glass as my eyes scanned the delicious sweets. There were so many things to choose from; chocolate cakes, chocolate bananas, chocolate fruit... I'm in heaven.
"I think we'll take a dozen strawberry and chocolate muffins. I'll have a strawberry smoothie and, Octavia?" Sebastian ordered for us both. I thought about it for a while before piping up suddenly, causing the lady behind me to jump and exhale in irritation.
"Chocolate smoothie, obviously!" I huffed excitedly as the lady handed us what we ordered.
The total came to £8.75, which I paid. Sebastian seemed slightly annoyed that I paid, but then I reminded him that that was the whole reason we came to the shop. Gathering our goodies, we marched contently out of the shop and followed the concrete pavement to the promenade. The sun had just begun to set, and so the sky had been left a beautiful colour of orange. I took a sip out of my smoothie and grabbed Sebastian's hand, dragging him to a bench. We sat down and began to talk again like we used to. After about twenty minutes of non-stop conversing, I sighed happily.
"I've missed you, you know." I told Sebastian, leaning my head on his shoulder.
"And I, you."
