The inside of the shop was hot and clammy. Way too hot and way too clammy. My thick curly hair didn't really help to cool me down either. Even though I was stood by the entrance, it was still too humid.
Waiting for the second that Robin would walk out with his new top, I pulled out my phone and played a few games. Tappy McWalkie, You'll find me in the JumpScare and even Celebrity Night Revolution! I loved that game, what you had to do was go around and guess who the celebrities were. It was a pretty cool game, unless you got one of their names wrong... what happened is that the celebrity pulls out a dagger, shouts their name and then chases you around. The screen moves really fast. At times the game will 'glitch' the name of random celebrities everywhere, and if you tap the correct name then, you win. If you tap the wrong name, they turn into a zombie and eat you.
Nice game, right?
I played a couple of games and then lost when it came to Shia LaBeouf and I accidentally tapped 'Psycho killer'. He was hunting me down in the woods and so it was pretty scary.
I pressed the off button on my phone and slid it into my back pocket. He still hadn't come out of the shop. How long would it take to design a top? Looking in the direction of the local post-office,the clock read 14:38. He had been in there for twenty minutes! What was he doing, making the T-shirt from scratch? I took a quick glance inside the game shop. He was still inside, using the touchscreen and creating his shirt. He seemed to be sketching something with a special pen, but I don't know, I didn't really care at the time. I was too hot!
"Are you done yet?" I called from the entrance, sighing. I was so bored.
'Maybe I should go into another shop for a while and browse for things, I really need a new pair of jeans.'
"Octavia," He turned his head around and smiled."You don't actually have to wait outside, you can go somewhere else." He kept looking at me for a while until I started to back away. " You can go look around... or you can stay, if you want?" He said still staring at me. By the tone of his voice I could tell that he wanted me to stay. I wanted to, but I really needed new things. I mean, I wanted to go look in the other shops but I wanted to stay as well. I thought about all of the things I could buy, brown lipsticks, black eyeliner, earrings... earrings!
I had needed a pair for ages. My ears looked really plain and I DID NOT LIKE IT!
I walked to the outside of the shop and glanced around, checking to for any nice shops. Then I saw it.
The Golden Carat.
The only shop in the world to have the most expensive mineral, the Pink Star Diamond... or so they say. The owner and I know each other fairly well because of my mum, and so he told me that he had the only Pink Star Diamond ever mined and that that was why the shop was so famous... but I don't know... I've never really believed him.
Him and my mother are brilliant friends. Apparently they used to work together in a science lab. They are exactly alike. They do everything the same, they like the same things, eat the same things, hate the same things, they are the same person!
The jewellery in the window (especially the earrings) were beckoning me to go and buy them. My legs began to move, and so my mind was set on the earrings. Nothing could make me stop. No matter what happened I was going to buy them.
I pushed open the heavy golden door to the shop and quickly ran inside, so that the door wouldn't crush me if I accidentally let go.
"Octavia! Buongiorno! It has been a while, no?" That was the obvious voice of the owner, Antonio Rosario Roschelinni. Despite his long and fancy name, he was nowhere near fancy. He wore a set of black tracksuits and jacket that contrasted with his blonde-white ecstatic hair. His pointy ears always had a pencil on top of it, or sometimes charcoal, waiting for his next big project.
