"I win! Oh dear brother, how dare you lose to me! Now where is my £5?"
A strong British accent sounding from the other side of the room alerted me to its direction. It was the two boys, and the one on the right seemed to have won. He was now jumping up and down excitedly, his arms outstretched ready to accept his money, his blonde hair thrashing about in the air.
"Yeah? Well you cheated!" The boy on the left stood up, his expression perfectly suiting his accent-which was slightly Russian. He was pointing an accusing finger at his opponent, his other fist clenched. Drawing in closer, I realised that they were twins, in fact, the only way I could tell them apart was from their hair colour (and their accents). "The Bishop can only go diagonally, not horizontally!" He faced away from his brother, arms folded.
"Well you cheated first! But I simply dismissed it as I saw it as an opportunity to cheat later!" The brother with the blonde hair shouted back, mirroring his exact position. A few moments passed before Vinariah stepped in.
"Guys, guys... or girls. Whatever you want to act like. You both cheated, so it basically cancels it out. So really," Vinnie grabbed both of their hands and stuck them together. She must have been strong because both of the brothers were trying to break free, but she held them there with ease. "Nothing ever happened! Suck it up Sam, Jack won."
The boy with the blonde hair, or Jack as she called him, smiled gleefully, whereas Sam, the one with the brown hair, went into an even bigger mood.
"Sam, we always do the same thing anyway. Look," Jack reached into the pocket of his tight school trousers and pulled out a chocolate bar. Its shiny purple wrapping and read, 'Goo Chew', it probably had caramel inside of it. "I took one of these from the cafeteria this morning. Twenty minutes ago. Right before we started the game of chess. I don't know why I did it, but I felt like I should. When I reached the sweets stand, I noticed one was already missing."
Sam turned to face Jack and looked devious. He reached into his trouser pocket and, after a moment or two of blindly searching, pulled out a chocolate bar, the same one Jack had.
"Well, we are twins after all." Sam smiled
"You're just big kids aren't you? Well, especially you, Sam." Vinariah stood back, hands on hips. She noticed me staring at her. "Octavia! Come over and meet Jackie and Samantha!" She chuckled to herself, ignoring the annoyed voices of the twins next to her.
"Yes!" I power-walked over to where they were. This was my first chance at getting away from Lydia, who had now gone back to her chair and started pulling apart another flower. "You must be Jack, and you must be Sam." I shook each of their hands, both of them looked happy.
"I am Jack Valentinovich, and despite my surname I have no accent, although Sam has kept his, even if we have been here for three years." Jack beamed at me, still proud of his win against his brother.
"We were going to call you over, but you looked so happy talking to Lydia over there." Sam put his arm on my shoulders. He was probably about 6ft... wayyyyyy too tall. Jack walked over and pushed his arm off me, he then replaced it with his own. He also happened to be about 6ft. Yay. But then what can I do about it. Most boys I know are way taller than me, Robin- probably about 6ft 5in, Sam, Jack, Antonio- around 6ft 8in. Jeez, and I thought being 5ft 9 was tall!
"Sam can be annoying. Anyway, yeah. So I'm Jack. I have dirty blonde hair, blue eyes- which I have been told look quite handsome-," He said smugly. "my favourite colour is blue and I am the more sensible brother out of us two, however being more sensible doesn't mean I am entirely judicious. Sam, though, has dark brown hair with perfectly natural white streaks, crystal blue eyes. His favourite colour is orange and... well, there is no hope for him." Jack ducked as Sam swung for his head.
