"Well you got home so fast I never got a chance to tell you..." My mother said as I walked past her and plopped down on the couch while she was putting some earrings in, in front of the mirror on the wall -oddly placed- in the living room.

"We’re going out with Claire and Jack to talk about the plans tonight for all of us. We'll be at Noodles if you need me. So you'll be home alone for a while."

Claire and Jack Michaels have been family friends since I was two and Chase and I ended up staying at the same daycare. Little did he know when he was two, that he'd be the biggest heart-throb teen actor at age 17.

"Sounds good." I replied, turning on the TV, yet not paying attention to it.

"See you later, sweetie." My dad said, popping out from behind the wall separating the dining room from the living room, and walking over to me.

"Be good." He said, giving me a kiss on the top of my head before walking to the front door.

"Always am." I replied after they shut the door.

Shutting off the TV, I walked to the cabinet in the kitchen to search for something sweet to eat.

"Why are there never any huge tubs of chocolate chip ice cream just sitting around, waiting to be eaten?" I asked myself.

Walking to the fridge, I tried to continue my search there. Nothing good. Great grocery shopping, mom. I thought.

Settling for a granola bar, I walked up to my room to fix up my make-up one more time. Taking the steps two at a time, I grew more and more excited for Chase to come home.

Upstairs, I touched up my make-up. But while I was putting some feminine needs on (i.e. deodorant and perfume), I heard a pounding outside. I walked to my window. Looking around, I couldn't see anything. No one was working on a roof; no kids were setting up a wooden lemonade stand, so I walked downstairs to check out the back yard.

Quietly, I opened the back door in case someone decides to come and hurt me and the pounding I heard was them making a coffin for me. But there was nothing in visible site. I walk out, and looked around doing full circles. Finally, my eyes spotted a sign by the pool, but I couldn't quite read the sign no matter how hard I tried focusing.

I tried walking closer, but took tiny steps just for my safety. Stepping closer, it became more visible.

"I'm home." It read. What? Who is home?

Then, I heard a little cough behind me and I quickly spun around.

To my surprise, there is my best friend. The one I’ve known since I was two and haven't seen in a year. Standing right in front of me with his arms wide open.

"Chase!" I screamed. I ran to him so fast, we almost toppled over. When I got close enough, I jumped up and put my hands around his neck while my legs flew around his waist and he grabbed me tightly.

"I've missed you, Aria!"

"You have no idea how much I’ve missed you, Chasey." I said with a massive grin on my face, putting my head in the nook of his neck. 'Chasey' is what I used to call him when we were younger.

Chase spun us in circles, and I closed my eyes enjoying the ride. That was before he started running forward, and I whipped my head up just in time to see us getting closer to the ground, and the water from my pool started surrounding us.

When I got up and got a gasp of air, I splashed Chase and almost shoved his head underwater, but couldn't manage because he put his arm under my knees, the other around my back, and started carrying me to the ladder, making me think we were getting out.
