“Chase!” I screamed as I felt a pound of water splash on my stomach and spray my face. I was lying by the side of the pool while Chase was swimming laps. Obviously his laps were over.

“Yup?” Looking over, Chase had a huge smile on his face as he started walking towards the side of the pool.

“We’ve been out here for ten minutes! I figured you could’ve at least waited about,” I started, staring the invisible watch on my wrist, “fifteen!”

“Sorry, m’dear.” Chase stated.

“Don’t even think about it.” I said with a serious face, sitting up and moving my body to face Chase.

“Think ‘bout what?” Chase questioned, still walking towards me.

“You know what I’m talking about!” I say.

“Fine,” he said stopping right at my feet that are in the pool. “Help me up?”

“Oh don’t even steal my trick!” I start saying, but before I could get my feet out of the water, I’m being dragged into it and I shriek.

“What is up with you making me fall into pools when I really don’t want to?”

“It just makes it that much more fun.” He states.

“Not for me, buddy-o.” I joke.

“Very sorry.” He said sincerely, but with a smile.

But his voice isn’t what caught me off guard. It’s the fact that the next thing to happen changed… Well… practically everything.

He started walking closer, and I could feel the water between us move to our sides as the space between us closed.

“What are you doing?” I asked quietly.

But he didn’t answer. He just kept getting closer, and I could feel his toes at the end of mine. And before I knew what was happening, he kissed me.

It wasn’t one of those, kiss and look at their face to see if they were okay with it. He stayed there. His lips on mine, not moving away. But I guess I can’t complain; I am kind of kissing him back.

He lifted me out of the water so I was sitting on the side of the pool, but his lips still didn’t leave mine. I gently laid my hands on the sides of his face, right under his ears, and he put his hands on either side of my legs, lifting himself slightly out of the water.

“I haven’t watched the other two, what makes you think I’ll watch this one!?”

“I’m making you. That’s what.” Chase said, with a slight smile. He put in Paranormal Activity 3 and swiftly made his way back to my side on the couch. His hand found mine and they intertwined like they were meant to be.

After the unexpected kiss with Chase outside a few hours ago, we got out of the pool with our hands holding, saying nothing. It wasn’t an awkward silence, just like a: this is way over-due type of silence. Now we sit together watching a movie he’s forcing me to, just like Insidious.

“Just like Insidious. Next time, we’re watching Toy Story.” I state, lowering my head onto his shoulder.

“You got a deal.” I could hear the smile in his voice.

The second the movie started, I automatically shield my eyes with my hand. I don’t dare sneak a peek of the horrifying paranormal activity that could be happening through the spaces between my tightly shut fingers.

"Aria. You screamed like thirty times during that movie." Chase mentioned after the movie stopped, and we were sitting in all darkness except for the gray from the TV screen.

"Um, yeah well it was a scary movie." I shot back.

"You didn't take your hands away from your face! Not once!" He laughed, playing with my fingers.

"Yeah, well it was still scary. And it didn't help when you kept trying to scare me when it was dead quiet." I laughed back, putting my head on his shoulder. He gently laid his head on mine, and I felt myself slipping into sleep.

"You're just too easy to scare." I faintly heard Chase say. I felt a sweet kiss on my forehead, and that's the last I remember before I fell asleep.

"Looks like they've found you out, Chase," my dad says walking into the sun room where Chase and I are sitting, listening to music, talking about old times.

"The paparazzi?" I question, sitting up from laying down on the conveniently place hammock on the side of the room.

My father nods his head. "They realized you're not at home, scoped out all of the places they thought you'd be, and found out where you are. Guess they saw you two walking yesterday. Been outside all morning." He walks out the door with one quick look between Chase and I, and I walk over to sit at Chase's side.

"What are we going to do?"

"Gotta face the music sometime." Chase gets up, grabs my hand, and walks out the door to the side of the house.
