After the funeral, nothing was ever the same... Samantha started to into a bitter drunkard. Six bitter years passed....
She was walking to the library when she ran into a familiar face. "Oh, I'm so sorry..." she says as she picks up the man's things. "Doctor?"
"Why hello Samantha. It's been awhile hasn't it?" The Doctor smiles at her and frowns. "What happened to you?"
"Nathan died... 16 years have past Doctor."
"Oh goodness! I didn't mean to be gone that long." He frowns and looks at her. "I'm so sorry."
She inches closer to him and is crying. "I loved him Doctor..."
The Time Lord wrapped his arms around her and hugs her. "I know you did. He was a great man."
"Yes, he was," she clings to him, feeling comforted by his embrace.
"And he loved you as well. He would have done anything to stay alive and be with you. But he is in a good place, and he will always be in your heart."
Her breath reeked of alcohol, her face was stained with tears. "Doctor?"
He looks down at her. "Yes Samantha?" The man could smell her breath but thought it wasn't wise to bring that up.
"What do you think of me?" she asked, softly breathing on his neck.
The Doctor thinks for a moment. "You're a nice girl, but have a sad past. You're pretty, and clever."
She smiles at his kindness. "Doctor, don't you have someone, anyone?"
"No. I'm afraid not. Once in awhile, I do make friends, but sometimes they leave."
"No one should be alone... You know, Alex passed too..."
"Oh..." He looks down at her. "I'm sorry for your loss. It must have been hard."
She looks him over. "You've lost many, had your heart-wait..," she places a hand on his chest, "You have two hearts... Two broken hearts..."
"Two hearts yes, but broken? I don't think so..." He lies slightly. He looks at her and tilts his head slightly.
"Don't lie to me, I can see it in your eyes. You're broken, just like me."
The Doctor looks away. "I am not broken.." He wasn't comfortable with talking about his past nor his feelings.
She kisses his neck softly, "Let me fix you Doctor."
He pulls away and looks at her, frowning slightly. "No one can fix me. I've been broken to long. No one can fix me Samantha..."
"At least let me try Doctor, please?"
"I'm just going to disappoint you. I'm sure there's someone on this planet who would love to have you and love you."
She pulls a watch out of her pocket. "But Doctor, I want you. Do you know what this is Doctor?"
"Yes, yes I do. It's a Fog Watch. Since when did you have it?" He asks her.
"I just remembered.. I had it.." She looks at him. "What is it?"
He looks at her and then the watch. "It's a watch that holds your memories and the true you. Time Lords sometimes use them."
"Are you saying that I'm a timelord?"
"There is a chance, yes. But you'll have to open it to find out."
She slowly opens the watch and was surrounded in a bright light.
The Doctor watches, slightly shocked. Could it be? Could she be a Time Lord?
The light receded. She checks her pulse. "Two hearts."
"Really?" He walks to her and takes her arm. He checks her pulse. "Two hearts indeed."
"Am I a Time Lord then?"
"Yes. You are indeed a Time Lord."
She kisses him on the lips.
The Doctor was shocked and pulls away. "S-Samantha...What was that for?"
"I like you."
"You do? We only meet a few times though. How can you have feeling for me?"
"I knew you when you were younger... remember?"
"You did?" He frowns, trying to remember.
She places her hands on his temples, "Remember me Doctor."
The Doctor closes his eyes and stands there for a moment. He then opens them and pulls her close. "I remember."
"Good." She kisses him again.
He smiles and kisses her back.
She wraps her arms around his neck.
He pulls away and smiles at her. "I've missed you!"
"I've missed you too."
She kisses him and holds him closer. "I love you Doctor, I'm sorry that I forgot that."
"I'm so sorry that I forgot you too Samantha." He holds her tightly. I'm suddenly so afraid to lose her...
"Do you love me Doctor?"
He kisses her passionately, remembering now all the time they spend together when they were younger and says,"I do, I love you."
"I love you too Doctor," she says as she kisses back.
