****months of absence later****
The Doctor returns and looks at his house. He lets out a sigh and opens the front door. He walks in. "Sam? Sarah?"
"In here." Sarah called from the livingroom.
He walks into the living room. "Hello Sarah. Where's your mother?"
"She said she was "out."
"Out? Did she say when she'll be back?"
Just then Samantha walks in the door and looks at the Doctor, with sneering eyes.
"Hello." He smiles at her.
She walks past him and goes to the bedroom.
He frowns and looks at Sarah. "Is she ok?!"
"She's been like that a lot she is mad at you."
"I can tell..." He goes to the bedroom door and knocks. "Sam?"
"What?!" She says annoyed.
"Can I come in?"
"Yes, I guess.." She sighs.
He opens the door and walks in. "I'm sorry..."
"You're just sex deprived." She says flatly.
"What? No. I missed you and I'm worried."
"Worried?" he voice softens.
"About you. I love you, you know that? I don't want you to be sad."
"I'm just tired.." she lied.
"You always say that Sam, but I know 95% of that time, you are lying."
"Is this because we haven't made love in 8 months?"
"Not only that, but Sarah said you were very upset."
"Oh?" She sighs and tugs at her sleeve.
"You didn't cut did you?"
She nods.
"Let me see."
She uncovers an armful of deep cuts.
He closes his eyes and sighs. "Sam..."
"Yes?"
"Why?"
"I just.... I'm depressed ..."
"But why?"
"You're gone a lot."
"We talked about this..."
"We did?"
"You know why I go."
"Yes, 'to save the human race.'"
"People depend on me Samantha. Without my help, there won't be any universe for us to live in. Everything will be destroyed."
She sighs. "What are you God? You're the Only one who can save the universe?!"
"I'm the only one who tries. I'm not a god, I'm a time lord."
"And I can't help you? I'm just you're useless wife?"
"You are helping. You are being a mother to Sarah. She needs a mother. And I can't lose you!"
"I'm leaving, I need someone who actually loves me," she says, a bit angrily.
"I do love you Samantha! How could you say such a thing? To me? Why?"
"You're gone too much. I have needs you know. Have you looked at the state of this house?! It's falling apart!"
"It's because you aren't taking care of it. You're letting your depression take control of you. The house is falling apart and Sarah is much skinnier since the last time I saw her! You need to woman up and stop acting like everything's a mess!"
