I almost laugh but my voice shakes like I'm going to cry "he's never gone, he doesn't- he doesn't just go"

"Everyone goes at some point Sam." She sniffs staring up at the sky.

Suddenly, golden light begins surging out of the doctors arms and head. His body writhing in pain, his face switching and shaking.

"WHAT IN GODS NAME IS GOING ON?!" Elizabeth screams.

"Nothing to be worried about your highness." I tell Elizabeth despite the fact inside I'm trying to convince my self that.

The regeneration finishes and a new man lays in the doctors place panting. He stands up in one fast movement then ruffles his hair.

"So much hair..." He mutters under his breath.

"Doctor?" I ask softly "you regenerated?"

"Yeah! And this body is great!" He shouts and jumps from one foot to the other.

"What happened to the clockwork robots?"

"I just redirected their ship back to their planet and they couldn't stay."

"Is that it?" I raise my eyebrows "I mean, I must of been out of it for a while, is there something your not telling me?"

"Nothing that I can remember..." He says scratching his head grinning.

"Right." I walk over to Lizzy who is currently quivering in a corner.

"Nothing to be afraid of Elizabeth." I slump myself down next to the queen handing her a tissue despite the fact I've already bitten my nails to the wick.
The doctor is talking comically to a guard he waves his hands around making stupid faces, the guard shakes his head with one eyebrow raised to its fullest, he doesn't recognise the doctor after his regeneration.

"This is is all coming along too fast," Elizabeth says between sobs, "I don't know if I can cope!"

The doctor gallops over "Your highness your carriage awaits!" He laughs but bows all the same. Elizabeth looks at me and I nod willingly, the doctor delivers Lizzy to her carriage then comes back to collect me. He brings my hands towards him and sighs, "you still trust me?"

"Always."
