I CELEBRATE

SULLI's POV

It was one fine day morning , 15th day of the month of August in the year 2010.

One sunny morning, the sun is up and the weather is warmth as well. The whole house is busy. The wide front yard was being tidied. The trees outside our gate were being trimmed and trimmings of hundreds of small Christmas lights were put to which seemed to dance at night.

Busy unnies and ajussis are there helping each other fix tables and chairs in the yard. Table clothes are being freshly put out to cover the tables. Small flower pots decorated with red roses were put at the center table.

Buffet table is now being set up.

It was my special day.

It was my 18th birthday.

I woke up with a smile taking my time in bed. I stretched my arms and body. I felt the warmth of the sun coming from my window. Streak of light hit my eyes so I closed my eyes and bury my face under my pillow.

"So, what now? I just turned 18."

"When will Hyun woo notice me ? I am now a lady. Not a kid anymore"

"He always ignored me"

"How could he not put his eyes on me? He doesn't even stare at me" She sighed in frustration.

Sulli knelt down and looked outside the window. She saw the busy yard and the rented catering service, putting up all the tables and chairs. Others are busy putting up a mini-stage.

"He will dance with me later" Smile began to show on her face.

"Hyun woo, just ask me... if I love you and I would answer "Yes" right away"

"Please, Lord. I like him to be my first boyfriend"

'Please.... Please...Please listen to me" Sulli closed his eyes and begged as she clasp her hands.

"What if I tell him how I feel?... Yes, what if I try ..."

"It doesn't matter who made the first move. For me the important thing was, I was able to tell him exactly how I feel." She touched her chest and her heart beats fast thinking about Hyun woo.

"Hyun woo, I can't wait until you approach me... I love you so much Hyun woo..."

"Hope I could have courage to tell him how I feel . I can't keep this any longer "

"Just wait..."

Sulli resolved that morning she will make sure that Hyun woo must look at her not as a kid... not just a playmate in the neighborhood... not just as a childhood friend but as a young lady who is wants him for a boyfriend.

A knock on the door startled her.

She slid herself immediately in bed as if she had just woke up. Stretch a little and yawned... Then sat down the bed...

"Happy birthday,Sulli" Eomma and Appa went to see me early morning with a breakfast in bed and greeted me with happy faces. Oppa Min Ho brought with him a strawberry filled cake.

Oppa did not even dare to go near me but was obliged to kiss me quick on my cheek. It was quick yet it gave me a sudden jittery feeling.

Appa brought in a nice bouquet for me and greeted me with a birthday song.

"Thanks everyone. I am so happy today"

"Are you ready for tonight?" Talking to her Eomma.

"I am so excited" Sulli stretched out her hands with glee.
