"Shut up!"
I screamed, banging my fists against the wall. I spun around to stare at him, to yell at him. But I couldn't. My words froze in my throat at the look in his eyes. Those eyes that once held nothing but love and adoration when I looked into them were now cold, dark. Unrecognizable. It took a moment to realize he was speaking"Do you think I want this? Do you think it doesn't kill me every single day to see your arms draped over him, whispering in his ear, telling him how much you love him? What about how I fucking feel going home and realizing you're not there. That you always said you would be, but you're not. I've spent all of my life chasing after you, loving you, trying to make you see the beauty that you could never see in yourself. I left. And I'm sorry. I shouldn't have. But apparently it didn't affect you as much as I thought it did." Anger flashed through his sapphire eyes.
"Stop it. Stop trying to make me the bad guy." I yelled at him. "Stop trying to save your feelings by pretending they don't exist. At one point, you were my best friend. You were everything I needed. You were my knight in shining armor, saving me from my nightmares. You were my prince charming, saving me from myself. But you left. I needed you more than I've ever needed anyone and you left me." I moved reflexively, bringing my arm back to hit him but he caught me mid swing. He pulled me close to him; I could feel his heart beating, racing my thoughts. I closed my eyes.
"You think this is a fairytale? Fairytales are for people with no grasp on reality." He shook his head and stepped back as he spoke, releasing my arm from his grasp. "Welcome to reality, princess." I opened my eyes and, just like magic, he was gone again.
