A Dark Family

There is a realm between life and death, the world of life and the world of death.

In the begining there were humans, they were perfect, until those who began to commit the first kind of sinful actions.

The first to kill with Lust.

The first to kill with Greed.

And...

The first to kill with Insanity.

Those who commited these sinful actions first were labeled this way in the after life, but there are only one of each.
They run the afterlife, they are the first 4 to commit these evil crimes.

As for anyone who dies sinfuly will just become a lost soul forever traveling in the afterlife never to find what they seek.

When these demons enter the human world for the first time, they enter through deaths gate, (aka the book).

This book is the first gateway between the world of life and death, go through the book once and never have to use it again, you will be granted free will to come and go as you please.

But when a demon dies or is dragged back home to the world of death, there bodily capsule is left behind as a normal corpse, wherever it lies.

Demons cant simply return with ease, it takes time to gain enough strength to enter the world of life again.

So when they are in the world of death, they are nothing but darkness.

Demons have the luxury of choosing there aperance with the use of decayed bodies, just age the body back a bit and its good as new.

But normaly they reside in another humans body to avoid problems.

Worse case scenario, people think zombies are real.

Without a dead body to take form in, they cannot be visable. They would just be heard not seen.

If you die and wake up in the world of death as a lost soul
(not a demon), the only way back is through deaths gate.

And its basically imposible, cause its protected by the three demons of Darkness.

Demon of Lust, Greed, and Insanity.

One.
