I pull my paisley backpack tighter around me as I walk towards Camp Clearwater. I hear the squealing noise of my parents' vans tires and I sigh. A quick, hasty:" Bye we love you have a great time" and they were gone. I look up at the looming building that will be my home for the next few months, and frown. It looks more sinister than it did online. I push that thought out of my head as I walk in the facility and a secretary greets me. She says: " Hello! Welcome to Camp Clearwater. My name is Penelope. You are?" I study her features. A blouse, high bun, and fake fingernails tell me that she has style, but not enough money to express it. "Alice. Alice Hutchins." She gives me a little name tag and says: "Walk down that hallway and please be seated. Thank you!" As I walk down the hallway, I peruse the pictures on the wall. There is old pictures of places that I don't recognize. I approach a set of double doors and the chatter behind it grows. When I walk in, I gasp. There are a lot of kids here. We are seated in an enormous auditorium, and I sit next to a girl who's name tag says: Amelia Browning. I jump with a start as a man at the front of the auditorium starts speaking." Welcome! Welcome. My name is Mr. Moriarty. I am the head of Camp Clearwater. This summer is going to be a fun filled learning experience! Thank you all for coming, and remember: Learning is fun, if you make it so."
