"Are you sure you want to do this?" Said Amelia, looking at me uncertainly. It was almost time for us to go to the snack room to meet up with Andy and Spencer. Curfew is at ten, so at about 9:45 we started to go over the plan that Andy and Spencer set out for us. " Yeah, I'm sure. There's a low chance that we will get caught, and anyways, camp life here is boring. We need to spice things up, you know?" I said, stretching my arms over my head." Let's go, then!" Said Amelia, suddenly rising to her feet. We headed to the bathroom to hide out from the security guards that patrol the halls looking for kids out at night. It's an all male force, so nobody checks the women's bathroom. "Are you ready?" I said. " Yeah. Let's go!" We headed to the snack room, hiding in the shadows. We bumped into Andy and Spencer on the way there. They seemed to have had a harder time getting here than us. " We almost got caught by two security guards. Two! And all you guys did was hide in the bathroom and waltz down here!" Said Andy, walking in the snack room. "Want some candy? Nicked some from the staff room a couple of days ago. " Spencer pulled out a couple bags of Skittles, M&Ms, and chocolate bars. My eyes widened. I haven't had any candy since I came to Camp Clearwater, and I tore into the Skittles. They're my favorite. "Now. What your alls job is is to keep watch at your designated post. Amelia at the gym entrance, Alice at the other. The code word if we are compromised is trash can. Okay?" Said Spencer. "Yeah, we get it. Lets get this over with already." I said. I walk over to the back entrance of the gym, Amelia to the front. I slump down in front of the door and look down the hall. Nothing is there. A couple of times I thought I saw someone or heard something but I assumed I was being paranoid. In the distance, I hear Amelia yawn. Then, I hear a faint chatter, followed by Mr.Moriarty and Penelope. I quickly dart behind a trash can, barely breathing. "Are you sure that this is safe, James?" Said Penelope, pulling what seemed to be a large suit case. "Yes, darling. They will hardly notice a difference in their nutrition, and it's not toxic. All it does is slowly enhance their knowledge, through steroids. We'll begin stage two soon enough. Right now, we fatten them up. Time is of the essence. We must get to my office." What did that mean? Are we the people that are being fed steroids? I didn't have much time to think about this because Andy and Spencer suddenly popped into my head. I sprint across the hall, around a bend and see Amelia. I start pointing behind me and gesturing towards a trash can. Her eyes widen and we sprint into the gym, going onto the stage. We half walk, half run to the back room, and see Andy and Spencer recording everything they see. My jaw dropped. There were cameras everywhere, including the camera that showed Mr.Moriarty and Penelope getting closer and closer to the gym. I look at the nameplate on the office door. It stated: Head Instructor: James Moriarty. "Trash can! Hey guys! Trash freaking can! We gotta go! They're coming in here, now!" It seemed that me saying this has no effect on Andy and Spencer because they were frozen in place, staring at a spot in the corner. A cage sat there. I got closer and said:" Hey! We can look at his pets later, let's go!" "T-that's not a p-pet, Alice. Look." Said Andy. It was in fact not a pet, but a much more grotesque thing. A little girl, covered in tubes and scratches, sat in the corner, looking at us with fear in her eyes. She couldn't be more than seven. I clapped my hand on my forehead and said: " Hey sweetie. What's your name?" She didn't seem to get the chance to respond because at that moment we heard Mr.Moriarty and Penelope enter the gym. "We have to go, now!" Said Amelia. "Don't worry, I swear on my life we'll come back for you and get you!" I said, sprinting out the door, Andy, Spencer, and Amelia in tow. We ran and ran, going down our own respective shortcuts, until we came back to the girls living area. We got into bed, breathless, and went straight to sleep. What is going on here?
