Chapter 28: He Isn't Embarrassed

"Mom, come on. They're going to start eating without us and I'm hungry" I yelled to 88 mom from downstairs.

Well were supposed to meet for Thanksgiving half an hour ago and that's when my mom started showering. She was never one to arrive on time.

"You look beautiful dear" My mom said once she saw me. I've got to admit, I actually do. I had a dress that the top part was a lacy white and separated by a brown belt was the lower part which was a flowy light blue. I matched it with brown shoes and a purse, well technically, Victoria and Dylan matched it.

"Thank you, now can we please go?" I asked and she nodded. We closed everything and we got into the car. She placed Gabriella in the car seat while I turned the engine on.

I used the pin location to drive towards Gavin's house. It wasn't that far away but it still made enough time so I could show my mom the music of Panic! At the Disco. She actually liked I write sins not tragedies.

I parked beside a random car and we quickly got off. My mom actually likes taking care of Gabriella. She says it reminds her of when she used to take care of us so I just let her.

"Before I go in, what are you and that Seth kid again?" Mom asked me before I rang the bell.

"Nothing mom, we're going on a date tommorow" I said and she nodded.

"Have you kissed yet?" She asked me making me groan and turned towards her.

"Can we please avoid this topic from now on?" I asked and she smirked. "So that's a yes"

I quickly rang the doorbell and Gavin answered. "It's about time, everyone is already inside" He said and we stepped in.

Literally everyone was sitting in a giant table. Dylan was with his little brother and his parents. Victoria was with her parents, since she is a single child. Next was Wesley with his father. Then, who I'm guessing is Gavin's parents. Finally, was Seth with his parents and his sister, Melody.

With our luck the empty seats were beside them. I don't know if that's good or bad. I sat down next to Seth and he sent me a smile which I gladly returned.

"So you're not going to kiss hello?" My mom asked us and I could hear the table starting to laugh.

"Oh my god" I muttered as I hid beneath my hands.

I felt someone take my hands away from my face and saw Seth staring at me and laughing. How is he not embarrassed?

"I really like your mother" He said to me and I rolled my eyes.

"Yeah, now that everyone had a laugh. We can finally eat" Gavin announced and his maids started bringing in the food. I didn't even knew he had maids. Why were they working on Thanksgiving?

I stopped thinking when I saw the food being placed on the table. They were 2 turkeys already sliced. For sides were the classic mashed potatoes, rice, macaroni and cheese, casserole, bread and corn bread.

This is glory. This is like a buffet. I filled my plate and then went back to the seat. Once I started eating I left my right hand fall to my lap. A few seconds later Seth grabbed my hand and interlocked it with his.

I looked over at him and he sent me a wink before he took a bite of his food. I started eating too with my remaining hand.

An hour later, we had all finished eating and we we're talking with each other and that's when Wesley's father started telling a story.

"Yesterday, one of those gay things had the decency of debating me about the Bruce Jenner stunt. I mean that's just not right" He said and started laughing alone. We all could sense how the awkward silence formed. Welsey and Dylan both looked at each other before looking away.

Sensing the awkwardness, Kyle, Gavin's father stood up. "Since you all finished eating, I guess those stomachs of yours can handle a little dessert" He said and the maids came back with new food in their hands. Once again I was mesmerized by the food in front of us.

There was apple, pumpkin and pecan pie, creme brulee, cheesecake and cookies. Once again, there was a line towards the food and trust me it didn't disappoint.

I got out of that house with my mom and immediately got on the car. As soon as I turned the engine on there was a knock on the window.

I screamed as I looked to the side and saw Seth looking at me like I'm mad. "Ms. Adams do you mind if I talk to your crazy daughter for a few minutes?" He asked and she shook her head.

I got off the car and closed the door. "What's up? This wastes gasoline" I said when I looked at him.

He rolled his eyes before pressing his lips against mine. I immediately wrapped my hands around his neck and pulled him closer to me as I kissed him back. Before I knew it, my back hit the car door and I remembered that my mom was inside.

I quickly broke away and looked inside the car. My mom had all the windows up, the doors closed and the music so high it could be heard outside.

"Your mom is the best" He says and I chuckled. "She really is, even though she sometimes hates what I wear. She's okay today because she approves of this look" I said pointing to my outfit.

"You really do look beautiful" He said before giving me a peck on the lips.

"Thanks Finny" I said and he shrugged with a smirk.

I was heading towards the car when he stopped me.

"That reminds me, tomorrow don't wear white or anything short. Where we're going is cold" He winked and headed back towards his car.

I entered my car again and that's when my mom turned down the music. "Well aren't you two the cutest couple I've seen".

"Mom" I groaned as I reversed out of the space.

"What? You two remind me of your father and I" She said giving me a smile which I returned.

"Hope. It is the only thing stronger than fear"
