Chapter 18: He Can't Be Scared

"What are you going to do this fine evening?" Seth asked in my ear as he appeared out of nowhere. I quickly screamed and immediately turned around to hit him. "Don't scare me like that" I said trying to control my racing heart. I was going to throw him an insult when I saw how close our faces were. Suddenly I was sort of speechless, every insult in my head was suddenly wiped.

I guess he noticed it too because neither of us said anything as we stared into each other's eyes. For a second Seth's eyes left mine and he looked further down my face. That was kind of like a bath of cold water because I turned around.

He cleared his throat and then spoke for the first time since whatever just happened. Whatever it was. "You never answered me" He said but I couldn't quite remember what he asked.

"I forgot the question" I said to him while returning to look at him. This time he was further away.

"I asked what you were going to do later, you know after school" He clarified to which I nodded. "Right, now I remember. I don't think I'm going to do anything except catch up on Arrow" I said to him.

"Well instead of being a total loner and being in your house watching series. You could come to my house, my mom decided to host dinner and wanted me to invite you" He said, now this is a tough one. Staying home and watch Oliver Queen or actually socialize and eat home-made food.

"Okay, I'll go but just because there's food. I still have to text my mom though" It wouldn't make such a difference since my mom is working a late shift today but I still texted her the details in case she got home earlier.

This is what she answered: Okay sweetie. Just know to drive safely and use protection. I'm too young to be a grandma.

"What did she answer?" Seth asked curiously. Well I certainly wasn't going to show him this. With that thought in mind I locked the phone and placed it in my pocket.

"She said it was fine and to drive safely" I left out the last part on purpose.

"We'll go straight after school. I'll wait by your car" He said and left. Yes, we do give each other daily rides. Like normal friends do, right?

After a long day of boring classes I walked towards my car and saw Seth waiting for me while distracted with Gabriella. I walked slowly and sneaked up behind him. It was time to get revenge. Just as I was about to scare him he turned around and screamed, making me scream.

"You flipping idiot, I was suppose to scare you not the other way around" I whined while getting on my car. Seth placed Gabriella in the back seat and then sat down in the passenger seat.

"So what did we learn?" When I didn't answer he kept talking. "We learned that you can't scare Seth the greatness" He yelled like he was talking with a microphone.

"really? Seth the Greatness?" I asked him and he shrugged. "Whatever, let's just get to your house" I said and started the car.

"Before we get home we need to stop and get a couple of items first" He said and I nodded. I quickly drove towards the groceries store that was closer to his house and parked in one of the closest slots.

We both got out and took a cart, placing Gabriella in the cart. "Let's make this fast, because I'm really hungry" He said while we entered the store.

We finished the list in a couple of minutes and we were about to pay but Seth took a look at the candy lane and disappeared from sight. Leaving me alone with the cart and Gabriella.
