Today we have the stunning Charlotte Adams with us! This is her first interview with her playing a large role! Charlotte, how are you?
Tired! Very very tired! I think this might be one of the longest breaks I've had!
I bet! You've never had this large of a role, right? You've never really had this spotlight shinned on you before?
No, I haven't. I still can't believe its on me to be completely honest. I starred as Mary Poppins in my senior high school play, but nothing as big as The Menace.
How'd you land the role of The Menace?
When the first Avenger film was just starting out they put out a casting call for a lot of walk-ons. I jumped on the chance and was hired to basically just run around and scream, but I did get to meet Chris Evans, so that was a plus. Then when the filmed Age of Ultron they called back a lot of the same walk-ons and I was chosen again!
Did Chris remember you?
No, he didn't! I'm still upset!
Haha, but the Russo brothers must have been really impressed with your acting talent?
All my running around and screaming you mean? Haha, but yes, when they called me for an audition I was really taken back. I didn't know they had even considered me for that role, but I'm really glad they did!
Can you explain your character The Menace a little bit?
Yes of course! I am always ready to talk about this. The Menace is a villain turned good. I think the writers of the scripts are very obsessed with the idea and the mental struggle of bad guys turned good guys. You get to see a lot of it with Bucky and with Wanda and Pietro, how they used to work for Ultron and even in Civil War with Wanda feeling bad about the people she's hurt. They are drawn with the internal struggle of that. You even get a little bit of that with Hawkeye in the first Avengers film when Loki takes over his mind. So saying that The Menace is recruited by S.H.I.E.L.D, and she basically has to re-learn her powers very slowly. Everyone fears this girl but she's just really scared and nervous. Her inflection is very cool to play around with.
How'd she obtain her power and what is it?
I can't tell you how she got them, spoilers! But her powers are all mind related...the control of the mind.
She's very close to Bucky isn't she?
She is! She really is. Bucky understands what she's going through, he gets her pain. Theres something beautiful in the way he can calm her down, and just...just help her process through her own thoughts.
Sebastian Stan plays Bucky Barnes, how's it like playing his co-star and love interest?
Its great! Sebastian is just a stunning actor, its so easy to play off his cues and emotions. The whole acting group is great, Chris, Robert and Scarlet just make it so easy to act off.
