8. Crazy Girl

Marley opened her eyes to see nothing but white. She thought she was dead.

"Hello.." She managed to speak.

"She's awake guys!" A voice next to her yelled.

It was Jacob.

Marley sat up and opened her eyes all the way to see Jacob, Prod, and Ray standing over her bed. Roc was in the corner tapping his foot sniffling.

"Marley! Thank God you're awake." Prod said grabbing Marley's hand.

"I'm so glad you're okay. I don't know what I would've done if I would've lost you." Jacob said on the verge of tears.

Marley tried to move her arms but couldn't. She looked down and saw she had been handcuffed to her bed.

"What....What is this? Why am I handcuffed to my bed?" Marley asked confused.

"You're gunna be okay Marley." A nurse walked inside and told her.

"What happened to me?"

"You tried to kill yourself. Your boyfriend called the ambulance and he saved your life. If it wasn't for him, you'd be dead."

"My boyfriend?"

"This young man right here." The nurse said pointing to Jacob.

Jacob chuckled.

"Why am I handcuffed to my bed?"

"That wasn't our decision Ms. Jennings. I'm sorry."

"Who's decision was it then?"

"Mine." A familiar voice said.

Marley looked up to see her caseworker at the door. She hadn't seen her since the day that her grandmother had died.

"Mrs. Marino...What are you doing here?"

"I came to see you Marley. How are you holding up?"

"I'm fine."

Mrs. Marino sighed.

"I promised your grandmother that if anything ever happened to her, I'd take care of you. If she knew what you did today, she wouldn't be happy."

"I know Mrs. Marino but you don't understand."

"I understand Marley...You have no idea."

"Will you answer this? Why am I handcuffed to my bed?"

"I have good news and bad news. Which do you wanna hear first?"

"Good news. I need good news right about now."

"We arrested your mother. You won't have to hear from her for a very long time. She will be put in jail for the rest of her life."

"Thank you! I know that most people that don't know anything about my life would call me an ungrateful bitch but they don't know half of the things she's done to me. Thank you for taking her away."

"The bad news is........You'll be put into a psychiatric home for a few months. We want you to get better. We want to help you."

"A psychiatric home?! That's for crazy people! And I'm not crazy!"

"Marley, you tried to kill yourself. We only want what's best for you. At least try and stay there for a few months. Please!"

"Okay Mrs. Marino.."

"Good. I'll come back tomorrow and pick you up and we'll go from there. Have a nice night Marley. I'll see you tomorrow."

Mrs. Marino hugged Marley and left.

"Jacob?"

"Yes Marley?"

"Thank you. You saved my life....Again."

"You're welcome. And Marley I wanna tell you something.."

"What is it Jacob?"

"If you were so depressed and felt like that, why didn't you talk to me? You're like my best friend! You can trust me with anything. I wouldn't have told anyone...Please don't ever do that again. I don't know what I would've done if you would've died."

"I'm sorry Jacob. I should've talked to you. I should've told you. And because I didn't, they're sending me to a psychiatric home!"

"A psychiatric home?"

"They think I'm crazy.."

"Crazy girl." Jacob said smirking.

Jacob's smirking made Marley chuckle a little.

"I have to go Marley. I'll come see you before you leave tomorrow I promise. And every weekend I'll come visit you. Just write me and let me know the visiting days and I'll be there. Me and the boys!"

"Thank you Jacob....For everything."

"Bye crazy girl."

"Bye Jacob."

"Oh and, crazy girl I want you to know that I love you."

"I love you too Jacob."

Jacob kissed Marley on her lips and left.

"I'll see you soon Marley." Prod said hugging her and leaving.

"You're very strong and I will visit you with Jacob every weekend! Promise.." Ray said hugging her and leaving.

Roc stood in the corner the entire time tapping his foot. As soon as everyone left he spoke.

"I'm sorry Marley."

"You're forgiven Roc."

"No Marley! It cannot be that easy to forgive me! Don't you see what I did? I pushed you to commit suicide. I made you feel worthless. I made you feel like you were not needed in this world. You're way more important than you think Marley. I don't know if you've realized it but Jacob really likes you! I was being a selfish friend and not wanting him to be involved with you. But I was wrong about you Marley..."

"I forgive you Roc. It's okay. Really."

"I had a cousin...Her name was Kiana and she was just like you. Everyone made fun of her because of her weight and because she was intelegent. But at school, there was a boy just like me who bullied her and made fun of her and it pushed her to suicide. She killed herself when she was 15. She took her razor and she killed herself."

Roc started to cry.

"And when I saw you like this Marley, I thought of Kiana. I shouldn't have said those things. I should've learned from that event. I am no good and I should be punished for that. I am sorry and I will make it up to you somehow. Please, forgive me."

Marley was crying from Roc's story.

"Roc I'm so sorry that that happened! I know what it's like to lose someone very close to you! On this day 4 years ago, my father murdered my grandmother. I had to live with my mother and she beat me everyday. She had men rape and mutilate me and that's not even the half of it. Don't beat yourself up. I've been through worse."

Roc hugged Marley and cried with her.

"I'll see you soon Roc.."

"I'll see you soon Marley."

Roc walked to the door, waved at Marley and walked out.

I bet he learned his lesson.
