It's weird how I went from being so happy at the game to being so miserable at the dance. Maybe it's because they had good food at the game, and they barely had any food at the dance. They didn't even have any punch, which was the main reason I kept on trying to get a date to the dance. Justin dropped me off at the booth where you have to pay. They were already playing my favorite dance, the Cupid Shuffle, so I missed out on that. I went over to the concession stand and got some food that they did have. I went into the cafeteria, where they were having the dance, and I saw who the DJ was. Justin.
"How come you didn't tell me you were the DJ?" I asked.
"Surprise!"
"Wow. Okay, I'm going to go talk to Abby. Wait. If you were the DJ, why did you make me go through all the trouble of getting a date to the dance?"
"I don't know who all these people here are."
"Okay. Well, bye." I went over to talk to Abby.
I asked her to dance, but she said, "Jeff, I'm not in a good mood. I need some time alone to think." That's when I started feeling really miserable at the dance. I don't know why, maybe it's because I thought she was mad at me, I don't know.
For the rest of the dance, I was zoned out in a depressed state of mind. In the middle of the dance I got a text from Vesper One.
"Hello little Cahill. Are you having fun at the dance? You're not? That's too bad. After you're done there, I need something from you." He went on to tell me about Extreme Mission 2.
After everybody left, Justin came over to talk to me. "Hey, are you ready to go?"
"I guess. Oh, and before I forget, Vesper One texted me." I told Justin about Extreme Mission 2.
"OK, well, let's go."
"Wait, now?" I was expecting to go in the morning. I didn't even know if the airport was open this late at night.
"Yes. You need to get started right away. We don't have much time."
"OK"
And then we left behind all that trouble I went through to get a date.
