Chapter 15

"Here we are!" he says as the song ends over the radio. I smile and look over at him. I take in his side profile. He's hot and good looking. How come I never saw all this before? I twirl a lock of hair. He turns his head to face me. His lips curl up in a smile.
"Don't you want to go, babygirl? "
" I.... Yea.. "
I shift to leave as disappointment seeps in me." It's okay if you don't want to leave. "He smirks.
" I should leave. "I murmur. The day wasn't exactly upto my expectation. Yes, he was flirting with some other girl and it did hurt like hell but I managed to live through it. Manav did notice but I played it off. Though, it was only a part of the day. We did many things. Watched a movie, ate pizza and junk, laughed, talked and when I busy reading his chat with the girl, he was busy with his Dslr clicking my pictures. I'm used to it. He has tonnes of pictures on his ipad and those pictures I am not supposed to see.

The bright and loud voice of the RJ booms in the silence of the car. "Hello everyone! What a beautiful evening and it will be even more beautiful with the upcoming request. The song" Abhi kuch dino se " is up and before we hear it... Here's an message from the requestor."
"Hi... This is for you khusi. I have always felt for for you and what I do need to say, the song says it. "A voice speaks. I look over to Manav who is already looking at me. The song starts and that's when I realise that it also says what I want to say... Say to Manav.. Oh god.. I twirl a lock of hair, nervously as the song starts.

Oh my god.. Like seriously.. I have changed and many have noticed. The song here says it. I tug at lock of hair lightly not daring to look at Manav.

I too hide a sweet secret, just like the song says it. Seriously, this sounds like a fucking bollywood third grade story. Oh.. Can't I just disappear right now.? I could walk out of the car but I'm all frozen.

I steal a glance at Manav who seems deep in thought. What is he thinking? How I wish I read his mind right now like Edward could...

The song ends and ads are up. I'm fucking frozen. I feel what is said in the song. The feeling.. All new still not new.. I want to say still can't... Just the same.. I finally dare to look at Manav and this time he's looking at me. His eyes, they have a different shine right now, wearing the intent look that attracts me towards him. I twirl a lock , nervously. He clears his throat and there is, this, tangible thick silence between us. The world fades and blurs as his eyes take me  in a world where we only exist. The moment captivates me. I'm pulled towards  him. The distance between us reduces and my eyes flicker to his lips. His curved lips and I'm tempted to kiss him. We are even closer and the distance between us is so less. I just want to close the distance between our lips and let them meet. In anticipation, I close my eyes and I meet his lips. His soft lips take to heaven.

His teeth bite my lip softly though it makes me gasp. He uses this opportunity to invade my mouth with his tongue. My body is on fire and I want him. Badly.

I gasp for air as I pull away from him. The reality sinks in me. I was kissing.. We were kissing. Fuck.. Oh fuck.. And, Today there was no dare as a cover to lie.
"Shit. "I cuss under my breath. Fisting my hair lightly, I freak out thinking what Manav must be thinking about me. I don't want to put our friendship at stake.
" Jiya ... "I hear his uncertain voice.
I squeeze my eyes shut as I twirl a lock of hair.
" Baby.. Babygirl.. I'm.. I'm.. Sorry, I didn't mean to kiss "I look towards him, hurt.
" I.. I didn't mean that way. I wanted to kiss but you.. We.. You know, we are friends. " He says, his voice promising truth.
I look away from him. It is obvious that kiss always messes everything. Here, we are fucked too. But I can solve this. Not always a guy has to say things. And, if I leave right now, the situation will be awkward later and I don't think I will be able to speak my feelings after this moment. I have to let it go and this ain't a movie where guy does all things. I can say it.
Determined, I look at him. "Manav, I have to tell you something. I have always took you as a friend." I see something flash through his eyes but it's too quick for me to read. "But.. Recently, something has changed. The way I see you, the way I feel when you are around.. All has changed." I squeeze my eyes shut as I gather every ounce of courage. "I feel for you, Manav. I.. I like you. Maybe love you too but love is still a thing too big. All I know is, I like you. Very very much, Manav." I finally look at him. His features have a breathtaking smile that surprises  me.
"Oh my god.. I still can't believe it. Jiya, you can't believe how happy I am. Jeez, babygirl, I have always liked you. Always. "His eyes shine with love and affection. I'm surprised that he has felt for me.
" Obviously, I always did feel for you, you dumbwit. "He says, shaking his head with a gorgeous smile." And, yes you spoke that out loud. I answer before you ask. "he looks at me. Suddenly, everything has changed. The tensed air is gone replaced with light atmosphere but still the question remains unanswered, hanging in the air. So I dare to ask," Manav, does it mean... "I trail off.
He smiles, shaking his head again,"This means that.. Babygirl, will you be my girlfriend?" he proposes, just like that in a simple manner, no flower and date fancy shit. And, I think I prefer it this way. It is like us. No showbiz, no fake stuff but us,simple and pure. I nod and smile as he leans in. His lips meets mine, as the day ends in an unexpected manner.
