Those Silly Days

Chapter 48

"So, what did he say ?" Myria asked, rapping her fingers against her thighs.

He said," What can i say ? You are still my babygirl. Nothing changes." I smiled as I remembered Manav's words.

"Oh my gosh ! That's so sweet to say ! " Myria gushed. I smiled.

"Yes ! I was just scared that he would think like everyone else and say that I am overreacting and make fun of me just like that Bansi did." I said, honestly.

"J, we were teenagers then. Bansi, you and me were fools. Plus, not everyone will do what she did. "

That brought the flood of memories back to me. Bansi was a classmate and a good friend, atleast that's what I thought. Back in school, we used to talk. She was only other female friend of mine besides Myria. Girls at school were always a bitch to me and I was a bitch to them.

One day, I was trying to hold my tears back and was still recovering from the morning fight of my parents, when Bansi came and sat besides me. She asked me what was wrong and I , being the naive me, told her what was going on. She laughed right at me ,telling me how foolish I was.

Fast forward few days, she started saying all shit things about me behind my back and on my face too. She told everyone about my situation at home, making everyone laugh and make jokes on me.

That day, Myria shut everyone up , including Bansi. She threatened Bansi and after that I didn't see her for two weeks. I asked Myria about it and she admitted that she had something to do with it but never clarified.

"Myria, remember when Bansi created this huge drama and told everyone about my situation. She didn't show up at school for next 2 weeks. What did you do to her ?" I asked ,reeling my mind back to present.

Myria laughed out loud," I'm embarrassed but not ashamed of what I did. I would still do it for you. "

"What did you do ?" I asked curiously.

"Well, after school, I caught up with her without her cronies and I may have slapped her and may have beat her. I may have threatened her not to ever say a word about this or about you or else I would beat her harder and tell everyone about her double timing some guys from school." Myria answered sheepishly.

"What the hell ? That's crazy ! I love you for doing that for me but don't you think it is a little too much ? "

"Definitely not ! She deserved worst. She used to spread so many rumors about you. Remember the Rohit rumor ? She was the one who did it and so many more. "

"What ? She spread rumors about me ? I didn't know that."

"Obviously not ! J, you always think that everyone is good. Even now, you cannot see traitors like Bansi. You have people like her all around you and you can't see it. "

"Who is like Bansi right now ?" I asked, trying to think of a backstabber.

"Leave it ! It's not important right now. It's taken care of currently. " Myria said, waving her hand as a sign.

I sighed. The life seems upside down these days always. The only constant factors are Myria and Sammy.

"Myria... Thanks for being there always ! Back then and right now - You and Sam always stand by me even when I ditch you guys at times. Thanks !" I said, honestly.

Myria chuckled wrapping me a warm hug.

"Myria, I need another help." I asked, my voice muffled because of the hug.

"Now I know why you were being so sweet ! Bitch ! " Myria said, swatting my arm.

"What do you want me to do ?" She asked.

"So, I want you to convince everyone to come to ..."

Everyone at table was busy munching on their food, when I cleared my throat.

"Guys, let's do something this weekend! I can't spend another weekend just in the city." I said ,looking at everyone.

"Let's go to club then ! " Priya said.

"God no ! I am done with clubs. " Shreya exclaimed.

"A girl's trip to someplace ? I can ask my dad for the jet this week and we can go to my mom's resort island. What say ? "Tanvi suggested.

"That's a great idea ! But let's do something together like everyone one of us. We have not hung out together since forever.We can do a girls trip after that." I suggested.

"I agree. We haven't gone anywhere together. "Sid piped up.

"I have an idea ! " Myria proclaimed.

"What's the idea ? Not exactly in mood for one of your wild Ibiza parties." Manav said.

"Wasn't going to say that,Manav ! How about we go to the farmhouse ? We can chill for 2 days. No disturbances. We can have a house party and spend days lounging in. It sounds good to me. " Myria finished.

Everyone looked at each other, contemplating the idea.

"It looks like a good idea to me." I said, hoping to convince everyone to my plan. I nudged Manav under the table.

"Yes ! It's a good idea. We always go out of city and country. Let's do something different this time." Manav spoke immediately.

"But what about farmhouse ? Whose are we going to use ? We all have farmhouses near Mumbai except for Priya and J. Priya and J's are way too far. So, let's leave them out. I have my aunt in one of my farmhouse and the other is going through renovations." Shreya voiced.

"Oh , don't worry about that ! I have sorted it out. The easiest to reach and coolest one is Sam's. I have asked him already. He is fine with it.So, everyone in ?" Myria asked.

Aamir agreed immediately and so did Manav and Sid. Priya was quick to say yes also. I was already in.

"Shreya ? You in right?" I asked. Her eyes met mine but she nodded. I knew she was thinking it was my idea.

"Tanvi ? You are coming right ?" I asked. Tanvi looked at Shreya and I knew she was about to make an excuse but before she could say anything, Priya interrupted her - "Obviously, she is ! "

"Alright ! It's final then ! We are going !" I proclaimed.

Myria winked at me. She did it. According to the plan, Myria convinced everyone for Sam's farmhouse.

Just then, the bell rang. Everyone scrambled to get to classes. The lunch break was over and Manav and I shared the same class next.

Manav locked his hands with mine as he spoke,"Plan successful ! " He smiled triumphantly.

I told Manav about the complete plan on how I wanted to do something about Myria and Aamir. Also, How I told Myria to do all this under the fake pertext of us needing some time for ourself.

Manav was initially surprised when he knew about Myria and Aamir having feelings for each other. But then Manav agreed it because he also noticed a chemistry between them and that could lead to something.

"You think they will say anything about their feelings ? Will this work, Manav ?" I asked,swinging our arms slightly.

"We can make it work,J !" He said, his eyes meeting mine. Something told me that this last line had more implications than I could comprehend.
